Make a headset "cardboard"?

I picked this badboy up from Wal-Mart for $15. It works great for just watching stuff. It has no inputs though, it is missing the magnet that cardboard uses.

So, is there a way to mod it and make it a cardboard-ish headset?
 
The official cardboard uses a couple ring magnets that you slide over one another to trip the phone's compass. Maybe you could do the same with this by gluing one magnet inside the headset and "sticking" the other outside so you can move it with your finger.
