hello everyone. im in abit of a predicament with what gpu to grab soon and would like some oppinions. I curently run a HEAVILY overclocked amd s7000 running at 1318 core and 6480 mem (stock is 900 and 4800 I belive) it runs cool at 45C under load with a custom cooler on it. I also have a overclocked r9 280x for the other vm in my hypervisor.I game on one 1080p monitor with two surounding monitors (I dont remember the res) im looking to spend less then 320 on a new gpu as the s7000 dosnt cut it for many games. i would also like to get a new card as soon as posible and defenently withen the next month. some of my options would be a gtx 980 for around 250, a gtx 980 ti for around 300 (no one seems to want to sell me one for 300 right now :( a fury x for 300, a r9 290x for 175, crossfire 290x for 300, crossfire s7000 (would love to but these things are like gold to find) wait for a referance rx 480, wait for a aftermarket rx 480 or get a 1070 (i would rather not buy a new nvidia card) and insight would be appriciated

Get one of the high end 480s coming soon....probably be around 300 tops....Not much longer to go

would they be higher binned cards? if its just a differance in cooler i dont care too much as i would put a aoi watercooler on the ref if i got it. do you think a highend one would beet a 980 ti?

the rumor so far is there will be cards with 2 power plugs and high end cooling that SHOULD overclock much higher then the cheaper single plug factory blowers. If you dont care about higher clocks then the regular release 480's are good. So it could be a 10% speed difference at most? Depends on what you want

i will probrably overclock either way but i generally like to throw a custom built cooler on it and i have learned from my s7000 one power plug is more than enough to get a decent overclock. are their any creadible benchmarks out comparing it to a 980 (i could get either for around 200)

Credible? fuck no.....not yet. Myself i feel like all the cards should reach 1400 under the right conditions....Above that is what the higher end cards are for. Its all guess work for one more week cause to many people bull shit and troll.

ok ill probrably keep looking and messaging people about 980 ti's and if i do get a offer for 300 ill get that but it looks like i will wait and get a 480
