Controllers?

The 8bitdo controllers are quality but I find that the ergonomics force my elbows/forearms much more inward than the standard Xbox controller ergos; which isn't all that comfortable.

I've yet to have an Xbox 360/Series X controller die on me and I have 4 of them. I did have one of the bumpers break after a couple of years on my COVID-era 'Xbox Labs custom' controller but I was able to get the part and easily fix it. Also have a PS5 controller but don't use it very much as it's not quite as comfortable to me as the Xbox style. I'd love to try one of those Gamesir G7 Pros or a Flydigi Vader but it seems wasteful to spend $70+ while my current controllers are good.

As dumb/obvious as it sounds, I like that the Linus video shows someone holding it and showing how the layout works in someone's hands. They also get into the physical ergonomics of the layout, thumb placement, smaller hands/thumbs, etc. GN's video was more about specs even though controller preference often comes down to simply how something feels in your hands.

Agreed, I really liked Linus' video over this. Went over most of the things I was concerned/curious about. Really not a fan of how it looks like it will feel or the triggers. Hoping I get a chance to hold one in person, otherwise I'm not buying

Controller body looks rough, triggers look rough, and the thumbstick placement seems a bit awkard/out of reach

That did a good job reviewing the ergonomics on their other channel too.
