Just hope the level design is good and the game isn't too damn hard.

Ooof, harder than Sekiro and Nioh 2? Hadn't heard that (though I'm not exactly surprised). Yeah....my reaction timing wasn't good enough for Nioh or Sekiro, so I'll likely sit this one out too
This is another game made by Koei Tecmo, so it's to be expected. Their PC ports are always terrible.I heard PC performance was rough during the last preview build...hopefully it's better optimized at release but I'm expecting issues
Nioh 2 can be hard for sure but the multiplayer component always allowed for help. Sekiro had no such option so if you hit a wall it was get good or give up. I was in the latter. So Wo Long will have same multiplayer assistance option so you never have to be stuck.
I could have sworn Wo Long was announced to be single player only....but it looks like that changed! Thats awesome to hear, I definitely always enjoy a co-op souls game.Nioh 2 can be hard for sure but the multiplayer component always allowed for help. This game has player invasions!!!
Could be just the Demo I'll see how the reviews Peter pan out but people are having a hard time with the Demo Boss.I hear PC performance for the new demo is rough...apparently the Steam version is capped at 60fps while the MS Store and Game Pass versions are 120fps
Good.which unfortunately can be disabled in the Settings
I played the demo for a bit. Can't quite put my finger on what this reminds me of. Its way different from Nioh and Dark Souls. Whatever its reminding me of is.....much older. Like PS2 days...
I was looking at some posts about this game seeing some who couldn't maintain 60fps on a 4090 in the demo which is like....what the fuck. Why do games keep doing this?I played the demo for a bit. Can't quite put my finger on what this reminds me of. Its way different from Nioh and Dark Souls. Whatever its reminding me of is.....much older. Like PS2 days.
Tonight I played it on a system with an RTX 2060. At 1080p, Performance was ok. I wouldn't say terrible. But, you also do not get granular control over settings.
Lots of environmental objects flashing and dissappearing. Apparently a new driver is needed for this game. I have the latest so, i'm assuming a day 1 driver will fix it.
Anyway.....its ok. I do not like how the run animation feels. The combat system seems easier and favors aggression. I think this game may be meant overall, to be a little more accessible.
Exploration in early part of the demo was pretty poor. But it was still training me on the combat system so...I'll wait until I dig in a little further.
Visually, even though it technically has more shader effects going on. I.....think it looks worse than Nioh 2. The shaders and textures were low res. Granted, I didn't play in the "resolution' mode. So, maybe that looks way better.
Also, there is a sharpness filter which is way too strong and also randomnly gets stronger and then lighter.
Character creator checks out people are saying the Boss in the Demo is too hard.

Keep going at it even if it takes you over 1,000 tries, thats how souls-like games work. My tip is to be really aggressive on the first phase and dont even bother using spells just stay on his ass and keep attacking to stunlock him. Second phase is just block his basic attacks and dodge them and only attack when youve parried his special attacks. Also, use that pirate cutlass looking sword its really fast and will help to stunlock
Love how there people with 15 year old CPUs complaining that they can't run a modern game.Early release in different parts of the world are real review bombing this game bad Mostly Negative on Steam I think the PS5 and X-BOX versions are better.
Unless people are playing on really dated rigs and are just upset.
the game is getting good reviews but it does have some technical issues on PC and unfortunately the difficulty is not as high as I was hoping for...
Buy Wo Long Fallen Dynasty Review- But Be Aware of These Issues
PCGamer like the game a lot. I do like what they had to say about how the gameplay can feel almost choreographed.
That said, the demo didn't leave me with a great impression. So, I dunno.
This game is really hard lol like a hard Sekiro and Nioh combined don't think I'll pick it up.
Not everyone wants to play with a controller, even though they likely have one.View attachment 553403
BIG LOL if someone gives it a bad review for no keyboard mouse support.
Again, kb/m is the standard control method for the pc platform, there's nothing wrong with being annoyed it isn't supported. Some people prefer playing these kinds of games with them, some do not. It is certainly a deficiency worth docking the game for.
More "accessible," and yet you still have people complaining the first boss is too hard.everything I've read says the complete opposite...much easier than any From Software title or even the Nioh games...it's a not a very difficult game at all...the graphics, story and PC performance are also underwhelming...where the game does shine is in its combat but even then it seems like a much less complex version of their Nioh games...apparently they wanted Wo Long to be more accessible so they made it much easier...they also continue to make the world a series of levels versus making it an interconnected world like the Souls games

I tried both an Xbox controller and kb/m and liked kb/m better for dark souls. It's hardly the same as your driving game analogy,I played the original Dark Souls on pc via mouse/kb because of this...I mean I didn't know any better. When I finally tried a controller on a replay I felt dumb for not having done it sooner. You wouldn't use mouse/kb for a driving game and this is really no different in that it is designed for a controller.
Ah, didn't see it states it in a big warning on the product page. It's silly to complain about then in my opinion.View attachment 553421

That doesn't give Wo Long a pass, though. In Brothers you simply can't play the game with keyboard & mouse, but you have the option to in this and it was fumbled completely by simply translating joystick movement on the mouse. I was just giving an example of a game that was received well on PC despite the lack of kb&m control. I think Koei Tecmo was just worried based on the reception of Ninja Gaiden with its lack of kb&m support on launch and felt they had to include it here. But as with nearly all Koei Tecmo PC ports, everything is half-assed or no-assed to get it running on PC.Ah, didn't see it states it in a big warning on the product page.
