Windows Driver Kit 8.1 update offline install?

Microsoft took the Windows Driver Kit 8.1 and 8.1 update files offline.

I can still get the web installer, bir it fails because the files it is supposed to download are not there.

I found that Chocolatey has one labeled as 8.1 but not one labeled as 8.1 update.

Anybody have a saved offline installer that was made with the web installer?

Those are the web installers. Why the crap would somebody upload those to archive.org?

You're assuming a human uploaded those in the first place.

I got time to try that stack overflow suggestion of 'https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/6/9/86925F0F-D57A-4BA4-8278-861B6876D78E/wdk/wdksetup.exe'.

That downloaded fine, and when I opened it it gave the option to download the files to a location. That also is working fine and downloaded the entire set.

I am not certain why you are not getting the files, but it works fine on my end.

Ok.... That's weird. The MS site not only says that the 8.1 kits have been "temporarily" taken offline but when I did get the web installer downloads it wouldn't download anything. I'll try again on a different network.

Used a different computer (non-work) and was able to get the offline installers to download.

Good to hear! It's weird they would be blocking info from MS, but so it goes. Back up those saved files!
