What mouse do you use and why?

Logitech G9 - it's perfectly sized and shaped for my hand and customizable with weights too.

I can't stand mice i can't grip with my thumb and pinky fingers and lift up when necessary.

A lot of the new mice look great but have NO lifting grips. or have grips that are so shallow that your greasy fingers just slide up off of them.

I find that the Logitech mice have the better finger grip capability's.

Good thread as I'm looking for a cordless. Probably leaning toward a G9 or one of the L series.

Running an old school MX700 here. I had to replace the batteries but the mouse is still going strong after almost 4 years (or more!) of pretty heavy use. I don't really care that it's wireless....I'm totally used to it and I can still kick ass in FPS games like BF2. :D

It's been very good to me. If I was to get a new mouse it'd probably be a G5 (or a G7, but I like having two side mouse buttons). I've tried one at Circuit City and it felt very much like my current mouse.

G9 - fat grip (replaced G7) for gaming and Microsoft Intelli Explorer 3.0 (replaced MX Revolution) for work. I use the G9 for its accuracy and customizing options. I use the MS 3.0 because it fits my hand perfectly and i just plain old comfortable.

I am a bit of a mouse whore and am looking at the Razer mice next.

I use a DeathAdder.

It feels nice in my hands. The side buttons are positioned perfectly so that they are under my thumb.
Not that it was the deciding factor but it looks good too. All black not sure what material it is made out of but it feels nicer than the microsoft mouse I use for work. The center wheel lights up blue and there is a three headed snake like symbol that fades in and out in blue.

I use a MX600 from Logitech. Why? Because it doesn't have any wires attached! I haven't tried the more higher end ones but this one is just right for my hand.

MX518 because the buttons on my mx700 quit. I like logitech mice, it was a Logitech mouseman wheel optical before that (the blue one).

This is a good feeling mouse to me, I may actually pick this one up today.

i use the g5 because I find it comfortable and simple on my hands.
My brother hates the g5 and razor because it's too big for him but loves the g3.

G7 and G5..

Well if we are talking about all the mice in use in the home:

Logitech G9 -My gaming computer
Logitech G5 Revision 2 -Work laptop/test bench
Logitech G7 (Original) -Girlfriends gaming PC
Logitech G7 (Black/Carbon Fiber) -HTPC
Logitech MX518 -In my laptop bag for when I travel

MX518, feels great in my hand and the front and back-buttons are so useful to me.
Too bad it's so worn down. :(

I'm thinking about getting a Diamondback 3G or DeathAdder.

Ikari Laser

Just got it and I am loving it.

Not too popular, apparently!!

Edit: This is made by Steelseries
Reasons I like it:
Great tracking
Highly Customizable CPI values
Comfortable
Perfectly placed thumb buttons
Nice "rubberized" finish

MX Revolution.

High DPI and a lot of buttons. It also has very low lag for a wireless mouse and I haven't had any issue with it dropping due to 2.4 GHz interference.

I tried a couple MX Revolution mice. They sucked. They had a ton of lag compared to the G7 mice. Not good enough for gaming in my opinion. I like the buttons and the ergonomics, but the performance just wasn't there.

Logitech MX310. Good symmetrical shape, modest size, 800dpi, low price.

Discontinued T_T

Have you used the MX518? Could you compare these two? The Sidewinder stacked buttons are almost enough alone to sell me. That is just genius and no one else is doing it. I'm interested, but not sure how the comfort would compare to my MX518.
I upgraded from an MX-10. Now when I use the MX-10 it feels small and slow to me. I believe the new Microsoft Sidewinder would be an aquired taste. Some people would like it and some people would hate it. But yeah the button configuration , vertical, is genius. Don't know why someone didn't think of it sooner. Go to Best Buy or somewhere that has one out to try. Better yet, buy one and try it for a week. I think you will not want to take it back after that week. Hope this helps in your decision. sorry went to bed early last night or I would have replied sooner.

Visiontek XG6. Most important reason: Three 4-way control switches on it allow me to play most FPS games one-handed; I don't have enough dexterity in my left hand to do anything gaming-related with it.

Now i will tell you about the cons of this mouse.I run Vista64. Whenever I boot up, I get a prompt to install drivers for this mouse. It's a microsoft product. Why am i being prompted for drivers that are already installed and updated? Couldn't tell you. If you click on ask me again later, or the red X it goes away and the mouse works perfectly. If you click on don't ask me again, the mouse quits working altogether. You have to unplug mouse, plug in new mouse uninstall drivers and reinstall. Then plug your mouse back in. This is a total pain in the ass, if you do not click on the ask me again later or the red X. I also read that the guy in PC GAMER mag had issues with this mouse and his wireless XBOX 360 controller. If any of this scares you off then so be it. But as long as you don't have a wireless controller and don't click on the don't ask me again prompt, then this mouse is great! Good luck in any decision you make.

Used the MX1000 for many years and I absolutely LOVED the shape and feel to it. Good amount of buttons and pretty good for gaming.

I started using the Bluetooth MX Revolution earlier this year (mostly because my Shuttle PC doesn't have PS/2 ports, and the 1000 bugs out in USB). Really loving the features of this mouse. Doesn't fit as great as the 1000 but it's kinda hard to top.
I hear there's a MX1100 now? Complete with their super scroll wheel and even 1600dpi.

Logitech MediaPlay and OCZ Equalizer. I got the OCZ initially to use with my laptop because it was really cheap, but I found that it tracks really smoothly and fits my hand really well so now I use it alternating with the MediaPlay.

I don't understand how people can play with their MX1000.... I have it to use for browsing/etc and that's it. It feels too laggy for me.

I use a Razer DeathAdder, fits my large mitts perfect and is zippy/fast/great response.

Loved my G7 more than my G9 but my G7 isn't as sensitive as it used to feel. Any G9 because it pretty comfortable, great precision and options.

LOL man dont we all love Logitech?

I've had the G9, original G7 both revisions of the G5, the mx revolution and the vx nano.

I have an MX510 and I would think it is comparable in size to the MX518.

I have demo'd the Sidewinder and I did not find it comfortable - it was just too honkin' big! I really wanted to like it too - love all them buttons. Maybe it is OK once you get used to it, but my initial feeling was.... my hand didn't like it.

MX518 and I love it. I tried a G5 (first revision) but couldn't get over the lack of a second button. More importantly I hated the tilt wheel. The tilt messed me up in games, made the wheel virtually useless as a button, and the vertical scrolling seemed to be rather inaccurate.
