As the title says...what mouse and why?
After some reasearch about a year ago I decided to buy a Logitech G5 howeverthis seems to have become less popular on ebay and I was wondering if this was because something better was out there at higher demand...and was wondering if this was the case and if it was in fact justified?

i use the razer deathadder because it fits my hand well. the ultimate answer is use whatever mouse is most comfortable to you.

Razer Diamondback LE...Sleek symmetry. It's perfectly comfy for me. It has a great wheel, great click feel, and it looks really cool. I use it for a number of FPSs, and RPG/Strat games, I love it!

I also use the deathadder.
Its size and shape fits my large hand better then most. It feels comfortable. Doesnt get the greasy feel.

Diamondback 3G. I like em wired, I like it light, and I like it to match my case.

MS 1.1 here. Got it back when I started playing CS, got used to the feel and haven't even bothered trying a new mouse because I'm too used to it now. I have decent size hands and the light weight/shape make it the perfect fingertip mouse for me.

mx1000

because it's just awesome.

bought it used 01-02-2006 ;) got it off anandtech FS/T forum,,

I am using the logitech MX500... Had it for a bunch of years (i forget how many...Two computers though) and it is going strong...

MX1000 laser mouse.
Feels really natural in my hand and works great for my gaming, BF2, BF2142, CS:S, FEAR, etc...

I love trackballs, and asymetrical is so much nicer (imo).

Razer Deathadder because it works on just about any surface so is perfect on my sofa.
It goes up to 2000dpi, has a nice button feedback and is very comfortable.

Razor Deathadder.
Fits my hand perfectly and feels great in hand, also button placement is great.

Razer Lachesis, very, very responsive mouse, great for FPS games.
After scroll wheel got messed up on my G5, i got this one, and sometimes i wish i didn't , it's kind of too responsive for my taste for every day use. I mean when my hand is resting on the mouse it detects slightest shake and moves, so if you need some very precise clicking don't get this one :p

Have the G5 rev. 2 because I had an MX-510 before that and a MX-300 before that. Pin point accurate, 2 thumb buttons, non-sweaty surface, cool blue cracky design, weights, perfect fit for my massive palm.

Used the G5 for 2 years, just picked up the G9 a couple days ago.. using all 7g weights and the rough textured cover. Loving it so far, way better for my "claw" style gaming grip than the G5

Another very pleased Diamondback owner... although, that Logitech G9 intrigues me. I think I'm going to test drive one.

MX518. It was between that and the G5 and I didn't like how the G5 has side scrolling because I middle click a lot.

Dell intelli mouse. I use it because I beat my mouses' around a lot, and this one is nearly indestructable. Whether it be just the years of hard clicking, dropping in countless times, and some spills even, the thing works like a champ. Plus, it was cheap.

Logitech Mx518

Feels great, and those extra buttons are highly useful.

Just need a better mouse pad, had this thing since I was little, its one of those 3M gaming mouse surfaces for ball mice <_<

Microsoft Habu. Why? Because I love Microsoft mice. It fits my hand well, and has a nice blue thouch.

I previously used a Microsoft Intellipoint v1 optical mouse for around 7 years and it was awesome. I still works to this day, but I just wanted a blue light, rather than a red.

I use the new Microsoft Sidewinder, and I love it. It's kinda large but easy to get used to.I love the Forward and backward buttons stacked one on top of the other. And of couse DPI change on the fly. Also comes with Weights, different feet for the bottom, and a weighted box to keep it all and your cord nice and tidy.

MX518 I just like the way it feels. I wore my first one out and I liked it so much I got another one.

MX1000 on the backup computer, G7 on my main pc and I convinced work to buy me a G5. :D

I just love the feel of logitech mice, and I like the fact that they're nice and heavy.

Using a G5 Rev 1, but I was thinking of buying a G9 for the new desktop I'm building and making my G5 my "road mouse" and keeping it in my laptop bag. A $100 mouse is a bit steep, though!

Could I trouble you for pictures of the two mice side by side, so I can get a better idea of the G9 (widebody's) dimensions?

Have you used the MX518? Could you compare these two? The Sidewinder stacked buttons are almost enough alone to sell me. That is just genius and no one else is doing it. I'm interested, but not sure how the comfort would compare to my MX518.

Wheel Mouse Optical - 1.1a

I tried the MX700 - too heavy. Actually most Logitech's are too heavy, and not balanced symmetrically. No amount of weight shifting, barring a total redesign will fix that for me. You can say that experience alone pretty much drove me away from Logitech for good. The MX400 (corded) looks nice, but I haven't bought it, so no idea on it for extended sessions.

G5 Rev 2, because I prefer wired over wireless, its accurate, its comfortable, and it has 2 side buttons which the first version lacked.

mx518 and I'll use it until it breaks or until logitech releases the mx518 special edition (hint hint, make it!) I like it way better than the g5, the g5 revision is a lot better and I'd get that if this mouse ever broke.

MX1000 here but everyone is telling me it is not good for gaming. Temped to try a G5, but I'm not sure I would notice the difference I would try the G9, but $100 vs $35 for the G5 its probably not worth it.
