What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Played all my single player games for now... playing a bit of COD:CW Zombies, some BFV, a little MSFS2020 and Civ VI. Mostly how I feel in the moment determines which I play until I find the next good SP game to enjoy and focus on!
 
Just about done with the main Doom Eternal campaign now. I bought all the addons, but probably won’t start on it for a little bit.

On the last three screen section of the Path of Pain on my current Hollow Knight run. Then I just have to wrap up a couple odds and ends, finish off Grimm Troupe etc.

I just bought the new Cotton Collection for the Switch, so it’ll be back to shmuppery for me next week. :)

Finally on the tail end of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. After being moderately challenging early (when everything is like 50x your level), the last 20 hours have been a sleepwalk. I'm 80 hours in and I feel like anything else (I still have several areas left) is going to be tedious. Prime example of a game that needed to be shorter/smaller since 75% of the quests I've been doing are required.
 
I have not played much of ANY games in the last few years but have been trying to convince myself that I want to do so again by buying fancy new GPU / monitor ETC.
I purchased CONTROL a few days ago and have played it twice now but I can only make it about 40 minutes at a time without starting to feel a bit nauseous. Maybe I am getting old or am just out of practice :p
So far I am enjoying CONTROL and find it to be challenging.

I think today I am gonna play FF 14 but am gonna do so from the couch with my xbox controller. This is another game i bought a long time ago and have not gotten further than 1 hour in. So many games in my steam backlog.
 
Stardew valley!

Been sitting in the backlog for ages. Now I’m totally hooked growing digital vegetables. I know, I know, I need help…

Someday when we have free time, me and my wife are gonna start a co-op Stardew Valley game and probably not do anything else for two months.

We've both already "finished" the game on an earlier version separately before co-op existed.
 
I tried to play Ark but apparently cluster transfers are still broken on LAN, so I got the G29 out of storage and did some trucking. American Truck Sim mostly.

Outside of about 8 hrs of fixing stuff / honeydo list - I played the snot out of this game all weekend. I last time I binged on a game like this was probably 7ish years ago. It was rainy, my wife was working, - ya ALL weekend long. :)

I must admit - I'm going at it cold, no internet, tips, or tricks. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch, but is there such a thing as "Finishing"? It seems like it just goes forever. Is "finishing" completing all the bundles?

Everytime I think I've seen all this game has to offer, some new mechanic or area opens up I didn't know existed. So stupid - I don't know why I'm even playing it - but here we are. I'm having fun and that's all that matters ;)

Yeah, there's no real end, but I got all the house upgrades, got all the bundles, etc.
This was back on like version 1.0 so there was a lot less going on.

All horror games. I got the bottom four free on EGS. Not sure why there are a lot of indie horror games out there and why so many were free. May as well play them.

Looking to finish Halo 3 if I don't get it done before the weekend. I didn't like it nearly as much as Halo 2 at first, but it's grown on me some. Kind of feeling something 2D soon, though...not sure what yet.
 
Gearing up for Halo infinite. Mostly been tearing up MCC/H2A multiplayer with my new laptop, if anyone wants to squad up message me and I'll add you to steam.
 
I'm spinning my wheels again looking for a game to play.

I got fed up with World of Warcraft about two or three weeks ago. I love the idea of mythic dungeons, but the people freaking suck. Guilds only want raiders.

New league of Path of Exile. I played the previous league. I seem to play a league then take a break.

FFXIV was what I was told to try. Too much story. I've been playing for several days now. I have three skills. One that I use rarely. All I do is port everywhere to talk with NPCs.

I just want to log in and run maps/dungeons/instances and log out. Learn new skills. Get some loot. A bit of progression. Path of Exile has ruined any ARPG for me. If I'm not clearing the screen every second I get bored. Diablo 3 and Grim Dawn just drag on.

No idea where to look.

Eh. Meh. Rather be playing Path of Exile in that genre.

An ideal game would be a single player game that has me playing a healer from World of Warcraft and running dungeons 20 minutes at a time. Gearing up, leveling, skill advancement, loot, etc. That sort of thing.

Yeah, it's just a bug-hunt game. Plot's pretty thin, just go out and kill stuff. The sequel has a deep, somewhat sad story, but the first game just pits you against monsters.

But it's still supported and it just got a big patch, plus a bunch of added content. Haven't got around to the new stuff myself yet, I'm wrapping up the new content for NWN2.
 
Played Mad Max the entire weekend. Finished the main story about 6 hours ago. Got a bunch of things to finish up but after that I'm heading onto something else.
 
Finished RE8, decided to skip the horror games above. Will do 2-3 of them next weekend (they seem short). Doing Nier Replicant and will do Chernobylite first. Replicant is... very lame. Hoping it gets better towards the end but so far it seems far more sterile than Automata.
 
Absolutely loving me some Days Gone. Not looking forward to the hordes though 🤣 (first Breaker boss kind of freaked me out at first)
 
Tried the Back 4 Blood beta. Meh.

Playing XDefiant test. Sorta Team Fortress 2'ish with UBI Tom Clancy characters. Fast rounds. Random games and maps.
 
You have an appointment with friends for a party on Left 4 Dead 2.
After that, I'll probably be playing Path of Exile and League of Legends
 
I played Pathfinder Kingmaker almost to the end so next time around I'll try the two dlcs. One dlc requires a new game I'll skip the Varhold lot.
 
Playing Control to tide me over until the Mortal Shell DLC and new Street Fighter 5 characters hit next week. Still not sure if I like this game or not. I think I like the idea of the game more than than actual game. It sounds cool, but I'm not loving the reality of it.

Picked up Fallout 4 GOTY on steam sale so probably trying that out. Started to mess around with Battle Brothers again because I'm a glutton for RNG punishment. :D
 
Been playing Red Dead Redemption 2. Just finished chapter 3. Really cannot understand how this game was praised as the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's a good game, yes, but it's nothing outrageously special.

It's truly baffling that Rockstar put out this game 5 years after GTA V. Such a step backwards. And the fact that it somehow has a higher Metacritic score than God of War, Uncharted 4, or even Days Gone is even more baffling.

The graphics are mind blowing. If you're into westerns it is great. That being said I wasn't as drawn into it as I thought I would be, lol.

This is how I felt in Odyssey, when the bosses are much higher level than you & you don't wanna spend hours grinding it sucks lol I don't know if i ever want to try again. The fighting system seems either clunky or takes a lot of practice. Almost feels like Dark Souls. Like a game I love, but don't love playing at all. If that makes sense, lol.
