wd 80gb showed up in xp win 7 only device manager

I have a wd 80gb drive external plugged in it shows up in device manager not explorer
I was going to try a backup but its also invisible there and auslogics defrag
new to win 7 showed up last week in xp

configure the drive in computer management or storage or whatever it's called, in adminstrative tools.

What about disk manager? Does that see any valid partitions?
