The Verge is reporting that almost 5 months after banning porn from Tumblr and experiencing a 20 percent drop in traffic, Verizon is now looking at potential buyers for the platform.

Verizon finalized its $4.5 billion acquisition of Yahoo in 2017, which led to it taking ownership of Tumblr. Tumblr is currently part of Verizon Media Group (formerly Oath), the umbrella brand for digital properties that Verizon ultimately controlled after its two buyouts of AOL and Yahoo. The Journal notes that Verizon’s attempt to offload Tumblr comes as it tries to make the best of its collective media business after a $4.6 billion write-down last year, which was essentially an acknowledgement that both deals had been a mistake. Verizon sold one of its Yahoo assets, Flickr, to SmugMug about a year ago. Guru Gowrappan, the executive put in charge of Verizon Media Group last year, later criticized that sell-off as too time-consuming without enough reward.

But publicly, Verizon executives remain committed to the properties despite layoffs that have affected some of the sites and entertainment divisions. “I hope there is no doubt about our commitment to Verizon Media Group and how it fits into our whole strategy,” CEO Hans Vestberg said earlier this week, according to the Journal. Tumblr, it seems, is not necessarily part of that strategy. But now the question becomes whether there’s even a viable buyer for the platform in 2019 that won’t let it slowly wither away.

In an update to the article, The Verge adds that Pornhub VP Corey Price is "extremely interested" in buying Tumblr.

On Thursday evening, Pornhub VP Corey Price claimed in a statement to BuzzFeed News that his company is “extremely interested” in buying Tumblr and “very much looking forward to one day restoring it to its former glory with NSFW content.” The company did not say whether it has actually made any legitimate offer to Verizon, however.

I guess this is a lesson that one should embrace the nipple, not shun it. And furries... Furry nipples?
 
Definitely need more porn in this puritanical dystopia we suffer under. I mean it takes me all of 2 seconds to get to porn at any location on the planet. My grandparents in the depression had no idea what suffering was.

Overly puritanical bullshit is exactly why people are driven to look for porn because it creates a heavily sexually repressed society that is unwilling and embarrassed to discuss anything to do with the natural reactions and desires of the human body.

But seriously if there is a group of people that are proud they don't fap, then they don't really have much potential. It is like being proud whether you pee on the left right or center of a urinal, it doesn't matter as long as you aren't peeing on the guy next to you.

It was an incredibly shallow "nod" at a subject you clearly don't fully understand. There is a lot to why people look at a lot of porn, why people are taking longer and longer (if ever) to find long-term relationships, and so on. Though, really, why does it matter what people fap to? As long as any sexual relations they have are between consenting adults, whatever. If they don't want to fuck someone else and would rather fap, whatever. There are too many people on the planet as it anyway so a percentage of them not producing more children isn't exactly a bad thing. At least as long as it doesn't reach the population crisis Japan is dealing with (which is partly the fault of their over-worked and underpaid society).

So in your wise fully understood opinion, western man should stop procreating because the world is overpopulated while third world man multiply like rabbits and spread across the globe anyway. Sorry kid, but these are the same tired, edgy assertions that have no basis in fact outside of your childish need to justify instant porn at all times. My son does the same thing with ice cream. There are not too many people on the planet so that level of fake science drama discounts any proof of your supposed knowledge. Generations are becoming more isolated, mentally unstable, and even IQ's are dropping. I am not blaming this on porn, but to hear people truly believe there is some evil Christian out there going to take away their fix is laughable.
