YouTuber Tum Apisak has tweeted out what looks like the specifications for the upcoming 32-core Threadripper. If what he put out there is true it looks like base clock is 3ghz and boost clock is 3.8ghz. No information on how many cores will boost to that clock. You can check out his tweet here.

but wait.... didn't INTEL state it has a single-socket processor with 28 cores running at a supposed 5GHz ;)

(end sarcam)

This *COULD* be a bit more expensive then the Previous Threadripper - but I'll be buying one :)

I bet Game Mode in Win 10 can still cripple performance.

Over all I am OK with win 10 - game mode just seems so - er- broken.

Too much heat for the living room though. Should've been born up in Sweden or something. Like I needed any more reasons...

That's going to take one serious piece of kit to keep cool if the community plans on maxing out all cores. Maybe even a PSU upgrade. Good thing we still have all our old 'over watted' psu's from SLI/CF days on hand.

If the 2200G was $60... Oh boy what a great chip that would be. Same for the 2400G if it were $100

I need to come up with an excuse to have 32 cores damnit.. even if it only boosts to 3.8 on 2 or 4 cores that's faster then my 1600 already does plus having 26 more cores.

M-m-m-m-mininggggggggggg

not good enough, i make more money sitting on my ass doing nothing then i'd ever make mining..

Supreme Commander?

i wish, but the games 32bit and still chokes on it's self once you hit the 2000 unit mark. i still play forged alliance periodically but it barely even touches my 1600, sits around 40% cpu usage.

I think the price is far mo

That game loves clockspeed and fast memory. I will play the 7500 unit cap mod when I get my 10ghz cpu in 25 years! If only the AI ran on more than 1 core.

I think I am going to resist and wait for the Zen2 version for two reasons.

1. I don't expect this to have a hardware fix for Spectre and since AMD said Zen2 will.
2. I expect the core count (in the Zen2 version) to go up to 48 since the CCX goes up to 6 (12 C per die).
