Thoughts/suggestions for new build

Well its been a minute since Ive been around and if this is in the wrong section, My apologies.

First build in a whiiile, havent really kept up on things but lookin to build a mild gaming rig, below is what im thinking and was just curious on thoughts and suggestions before ordering stuff. Budget im shooting for is Sub 600$US

The Ryzen 3000 series (Zen 2) is a good step up from the 2000 series (Zen+). I'd say get the 3700X or 3800X instead for 8 cores/16 threads if you can swing it (though that $150 sale price for the 2700 does seem hard to pass).

What resolution/frequency is your display?

Ill give those a look. Yeah the price on that CPU was a good factor in me tossin it in there. Display wise, Im not thinking about 4K gaming or anything like that, least not right now anyways, the one i have now is just a ASUS 1080p, forget the freq, but it needs to be replaced as well. current set up im running is fairly outdated

I was in the same boat during the planning phase of my build. I see you say 'mild-gaiming' which is about the same as me. Mine will be my daily driver desktop and will need to be solid. I decided to just pick up a used r5 2600 as the extra cores didn't really make that much diff in standard workloads and most games. I would have liked the 8/16 but 6/12 is more than enough for me and saved some money and put that towards a bigger/better nvme.

Actually that's what I ended up going with was the R5 2600, and with the msi 450b pro max board and the 1660 black gaming gpu (with rebates got it for 190$) saved a bit there and with the less expensive CPU (115$) like yourself it'll go toward a better mvne
