I played this before but I think after reading your post I might have to give it another shot especially with the Workshop stuff. Back when I bought it, the game while fun was kind of aimless and frustrating at times because I felt like even though they tried to simulate mud and the cars it felt too exaggerated. Like a Jeep wouldn't REALLY be this hard to control in real life and that sort of stuff. Fun game, but I think i'll install it again tonight to give it another chance.

Tom Cat has great videos of truck mods & maps (kinda' talks too much tho). TC9700Gaming - YouTube

PS: it still feels pretty aimless IMO. I expect I'll find some maps that actually have destinations so it feels like I accomplished something - but 4-wheel'n is like sailing - getting there is more fun than arriving.

*If you want to do some 4-wheel'n online - PM me [H]ere or friend me on STEAM.

Life is Strange is $5 for all 5 episodes. Probably one of the best story telling games I've ever played.

I played 1 hour of EP 1 & could see it was going to be kinda' heavy, so I decided to wait until I was in the right mood for that...

Sniper elite V.2 on Ultra looks just as good as Sniper Elite 3 minus the textures you can turn off the kill cam which I might do cause it's kinda gross. I picked up all the Hitler DLC hell with it looks good no matter.

Well, this one hit me out of nowhere. I didn't really pick up ANYTHING I had planned on picking up. (most of it isn't really expensive when it's not on sale anyway, like Nex Machina, etc.) I grabbed Daikatana for $1.53 as both a joke, and to satisfy a what... nearly 20 year morbid curiosity... :D I'll probably play it for a minute and a half, and call it good. Money well spent.

Anyway, the real reason I'm posting now, is that I just picked up Cave Story+. I have of course known about it, and its positive reviews and following. I'm even VERY much into the style of game. For some reason though the aesthetic put me off (both original and remaster) for some reason. I love pixel art, and play the hell out of things like Axiom Verge, Shovel Knight, etc. So not sure what it is about Cave Story that made me not really interested. I stumbled on a few more things about it on accident today, then looked into it more, and read more reviews, and finally... caved... :shifty: Anyway, I think I may actually enjoy it. We'll see. Either way, I got something unexpected during this sale, and not anything that I was actually planning on getting.

Told myself I was only buying Nier, ended up checking out with $353 in my shopping cart full of games I won't play for 5 years. I think I have a problem.

Good god man! The Gaben has you!

And I thought my $110 cart was bad... ($100 of those were planned anyway, the last one was more or less on a semi-whim, same style as some of the games I wishlisted and from same company, just different IP).

Notable were Deus Ex MD (the DX collection is actually cheaper than buying the game on its own...).

Still on the fence about Nier, Doom and DMC4 remastered.

You got me beat. I budgeted $150 and have spent about $85 so far, almost all VR stuff. Have about $100 in the cart I'll think about over the weekend.

Uhhh...that's a review for the pack. The actual game has plenty of reviews.

Hmmm... haven't played an RTS since... since.... the original Star Craft. Anyone got a recommendation for me?
Ashes of the Singularity is cheap, looks nice?

I've heard good things about Endless Legend, which I bought this sale to increase my exposure to RTS. I just started to dip my toes into the water since it's basically the only game genre I've never been able to get into. Been playing mostly StarCraft and Dawn of War II, which I have been enjoying immensely. The Grand Master Collection for Dawn of War II is on sale for $20 right now and I'd highly recommend it.

Torment: Tides of Numenera for 24.99 EUR! This is the best price I have seen for this game and I am loving it!

This game looks fun

I just got Song of the Deep (another underwater game by Insomniac (who made Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet)). It's pretty cool.

I also picked up Dead Cells. Can't wait to give it a try.

I bought The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition, Prey, and Brutal Legends. I'm still thinking about Ghosts Wildlands. I hope the co-op isn't as toxic as The Division is.

Well, T-D isn't completely toxic but getting kicked from Incursions before picking up the loot left me feeling salty.

Sniper Elite DLC with Hitler played the 2nd one and the 3rd one are pretty short not much of build up. The 4th one looks the nicest though Hitler walks around a little more.

4th is the best of the series by far.

I finally got around to taking more than a quick look at the sale and ended up picking up more than I thought I would. I always procrastinate on that these days and I think other than the lack of flash sales it's mainly because it's such a pain to figure out if dlc is good, bad, essential, or in some cases even detrimental to the game.

I ended up with:
Wasteland 2
Mafia 3
Mad Max(didn't buy from steam)
Thief
Life is Strange
Remember Me

I had finally made some real progress on my backlog recently but this should keep me busy for a while, of course it figures that one of the few I still have in my backlog(Shadow of Mordor) is the one really good deal of this sale.

I picked up Shadows of Mordor since it was so cheap.

I also snagged Borderlands 2 GOTY even though I really never had any interest in the Borderlands series. A friend plays it quite a lot and I thought it might be fun to join in, but I am having regrets. I just don't care for the art style at all, in fact it kind of hurts my eyes and I'm not sure I've ever said that about a video game ever. I tried the demo way back when and knew after 30 minutes the game was not for me, but it seems time and a steam sale made me forget.

Ah Borderlands 2.. a hell of a game.. remember "shoot, loot, and scoot". I found the writing quite hilarious as the game went on.

Ended up making a bit of coin with some random foil cards, but oddly burned quite a bit of time in Fallout Shelter. No money in, but definitely fun.

I picked up...
- DmC: Devil May Cry
- HITMAN: Season 1
- Subnautica
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
- Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

Definitely more games than I expected. Caught up on most of my backlog from last year so I felt I should buy some more games while they were discounted.

I mostly ended up with some local co-op games and some VR titles that have been on my wishlist for awhile. Overall spending probably around $60-ish.

I bought The Long Dark, and that was it. And I only bought that because I had money in my steam account from selling trading cards and TF2/CS:GO items.

Good timing, too. Their story content is releasing in August, I believe.

I bought the following:

Wolfenstein: The New Order - Loved it
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - Terrible so far, but only about an hour in. The beginning escape prison sequence is one of the most boring tedious things. Run down the same copy/paste hallway 20 times and use switches to deactivate the enemy. *groan*
Life is Strange - One of the best games I've played in my life. This is still stuck in my head days after beating it.
