Getting triple siz pooled is really annoying, there is no counter to that....
3 zergs in 3v3 and 4 zergs in 4v4 doing ling rush is at least a platinum strategy for mediocre players, and a diamond strategy for good players.
Is it me or are people just not as good as Phase 1? lol. Like I'm rusty, but this is bad.

That's 3 zergs with gimped economy. Honestly what I would do is just counter attack one or two of the zergs and just let one of your allies die.
Not enough time.
Going standard on protoss I get 1 zealot to his 6 zerglings.
As a zerg, by the time they get 6 to your base you will just building a spawning pool if doing 14 build.
As a terran I would have completed my wall and had 1 marine. This will be ok vs just 6 zerglings, but not vs. 18... and chances are they will just run around the wall through another entry. (3v3+ here).
In 2v2 or 1v1 it is much less of a problem.
Right but isn't it standard to have at least one player do a cheese in 3v3+ ? Proxy gate, reapers, 6/7 pool etc.
Just trade players. I'd rather be on the team without all the economies messed up because of cheese. Do a 6 pool yourself against an AI and see what kind of situation you're in after the 6 pool. You're so far behind it's not even funny. I've lost my entire base to 6 pools in 2v2 and still won because the 6 pooler takes forever to recover from it.

I'm not exactly sure, I haven't played any 1vs1 games yet. I'm looking forward to them, but I'm just enjoying the AI and the massive games for now. Have you made it into diamond yet?
The AI is a challenge. I have noticed through replays that the hard AI has a slight speed advantage when building. I'm not sure if this applies to units being created or just buildings. I believe the strength of their early units might be slightly stronger than normal as well. I haven't tried very hard or insane yet. I did read that insane has the same boost in resource gathering that they did for wc3 insane, so that is a real challenge.
they need to fix the in-game voice chat and where are CHAT channels!?

this round of beta is packed full of noobs. i went 5-0 with my 1v1 placements but nothing anywhere near that with 2v2s or 3v3s. people disconnecting after first few mins or just being completely awful. arranged team or 1v1 is where its at.
Arranged team is the only way I'd do it. Random teams, ugh, no thanks. Only random games I'll play are ladder 1v1, otherwise what's the point?
Fortunately I've got loads of people to play with in my team games, makes it 1000x more fun.

Why not random team, because you're afraid of getting noobs? Equal chance the other team gets them too.
