Sony Xperia 1 IV

Some unofficial predictions:

It'll be speedy, offer a nice display and camera... but it'll be expensive, and will take months to reach the US through direct sales (since no American carrier will touch Sony now).
 
My prediction is that it'll be everything I want in a 2022 phone but I can't get it because my carrier won't enable VoLTE because they don't sell it.

ShortCirtcut doing a first impressions with the pre-production sample every reviewer is using. Which is imporatnt to keep in mind here. The phone doesn't actually launch till September.

Called it, unfortunately. A $1,600 phone that doesn't ship until September; Sony has basically guaranteed this phone won't succeed in the marketplace. It looks like it'll be great spec-wise (4K 120Hz! Optical zoom camera! Headphone jack!), but you'll have to be very dedicated to the concept to buy this instead of the iPhone 14, S22 Ultra or other camera-focused flagships.

Huh... Pre-orders started here in Finland today and it comes available next month.
