I'm looking for a piece of software that will allow me to mute calls or push to talk with a keyboard hotkey. Does anybody know of anything off the top of their head? I already Googled for a bit and couldn't really turn up anything.

I was able to find this, but it's more for administration:

Thanks for your help.

Snom phones are open source and you could write software for them. I know, that does not answer your question.

if you want to use software to control your phone, why not use a softphone?

I'm sure I could, I'm just curious as to the level of customization that would allow for. Push to talk/mute hotkeys?

I would much rather be able to push to talk with a mouse hardware button.

The ideal is to use a regular PC headset. Maybe headphones and a desk mic.

I did a quick google image search for Cisco soft phones and they didn't seem too customizable.

Cisco Communicator clients have hotkey commands which you can map to a mouse button/key etc.
