Those of you out there running Ryzen systems concerned about the FMA3 bug which can result in a hard locked system should start keeping your eyes open for new BIOS updates. According to AMD's blog, BIOS updates containing the new AGESA code, v. 1.0.0.4, will start hitting the public in early April.

See below for a list of fixes/improvements.

  1. We have reduced DRAM latency by approximately 6ns. This can result in higher performance for latency-sensitive applications.
  2. We resolved a condition where an unusual FMA3 code sequence could cause a system hang.
  3. We resolved the “overclock sleep bug” where an incorrect CPU frequency could be reported after resuming from S3 sleep.
  4. AMD Ryzen™ Master no longer requires the High-Precision Event Timer (HPET).

Wonder if that helps with performance issues a-lot of people complain about

The bios update is one thing, but they need another game besides Ashes of the Singularity to prove their gaming chops. It is less a game and pretty much just an AMD biased benchmark at this point.

DOTA 2 got a update for Ryzen as well.

I don't know anything about the AGESA stuff, but the ASRock BIOS updates released today (3/31/17) has fixed the RAM compatibility issues that were plaguing my Ryzen motherboards.

Well, apparently a lot of reviewers are using Nvidia cards with DX12/Vulkan and it turns out Nvidia's DX12/Vulkan drivers don't scale very well with RyZen. AMD's GPU's though seem to benefit from RyZen. Devision and Rise of the Tomb Raider are two good examples. Reviewers use Nvidia cause Nvidia is the fastest, but their DX12/Vulkan drivers really suck.

Looks like AMD should get Vega out faster! This looks like it could be very interesting. DX12 testing Vega and 1080Ti. Hope the reviewers do it right.

Sounds good to me. :) Also, Ryzen game performance is already good.

Dota 2 performs at minimum 10% better in the 1%.
They launched a patch for it as well.

Developers are hinting towards 2015 compiler vs 2017 being the best fruit out there, re-compile and performance just increases a lot on Ryzen whilst intel's performance is unaffected.
If this is true, then it's a easy fix to improve performance by 10%, ashes have other fixes in place as well to bring it "up to" 30%

interesting update for the memory. Curious, wonder if Kyle will test out to the new bios code when it's available.

This really does mean Ryzen was released a bit too early.
