... Company posts workaround

"NVIDIA took note of this issue, and assured that a fix is on the way in a future GeForce driver update. In the meantime, it posted a DIY workaround to the problem that involves downloading the GeForce 3D Profile Manager utility, making the utility "export SLI profiles" (applicable even to single-GPU machines), editing the exported SLI profiles file as a plaintext document, and importing the profile back. This basically alters the way the driver behaves with the Discord app running. The NVIDIA 3D Profile Manager utility can be downloaded from here, and step-by-step instructions on using it to fix this issue, here."

Wow. Crazy! Thanks for the heads up.

I always have Discord running.

So weird. I was out here swapping drivers and VBIOS the other day trying to figure out why I was losing 500MHz on my 3090Ti VRAM clocks, imagine my surprise when I read that it's fucking DISCORD what did it. Huh?

I'm sure Discord will still work just fine even with the mhz reduction.

It messes up GPU clocks globally if Discord is running in the background at all. Not really enough to affect performance but (based on my experience is the past few days) enough to make previously-good OC settings provide very confusing or even unstable results.

I heard about this the other day and checked mine, I do not have any clock reduction from running discord. My vram runs at 2625mhz no matter what when a game is active.
