When we took delivery of the Phanteks Threadripper waterblock, we also asked Phanteks to send over its waterblock for the GTX 1080 Ti. We are getting it out onto the test bench and show you what is in the box. Damn that is purty.

That's a pretty block. The thread ripper block is also very nice looking. Might have to look into them for my next water cooling setup. Also you might need to start opening then with white cotton gloves..

Kyle you should test it with CLU or Conductonaut on the die, if you do i can provide you with EK 1080 Ti FE temps for comparison, its insane how cool they run with a waterblock and liquid metal on the die :)

SHHHaaaaWIIIINNNGGG!!!! Can't wait to see how this does. The most I've gotten out of my Strix on air is 2078/11.60 until it gets over 40c(which is only about as long as boot up/game menus). Still happy but man I love those 1080ti's.

I got that model for the Gigabyte Aorus 1080 Ti. Not a bad waterblock. It even has LED lights for the Graphics Engine app.

Another great techie porn video unboxing video! That elevator music cracks me up every time! I'm hoping though that this becomes a regular feature on the [H] - water block testing and comparison. I really like the tear downs like you did with the Threadripper blocks too. That is the one thing that I find lacking on [H]ardOCP - enthusiast water cooling. Yes, there are several other sites that are dedicated to water cooling and I'm not saying [H] should do that. But testing CPU and GPU blocks occasionally would be nice. Maybe a monoblock and a water cooled PSU every now and then too.

Water cooled PSU is so 10 years ago. https://hardocp.com/article/2008/07/21/koolance_psu1300atx12n_liquid_cooled_power_supply/

Hahah. Oh man. The watercooled PSU...

I have to hand it to Koolance though, they thought of the craziest shit back in the day when going underwater was a lot more niche. But LAN Parties were happening everywhere.

But otherwise, man that is one beautiful block.

Yeah, Phanteks were not on my radar when it comes to water blocks.

Next time I need some (presumably shortly after Volta Titan comes out or when I finally get around to upgrading my CPU, whichever comes first) I will have to check them out.

I used to feel pretty good about EK, but after their recent shitty Threadripper block, I'm not sure I'd want to buy from them again.

So is this WB testing a transient thing that we are seeing due to the new TR4 platform or is there a possibility that we may see more on a semi regular basis?

I know I'd personally like waterblock reviews.

There are far too few good comparative waterblock reviews out there, so you usually have to shop based on guesswork.

I have learned not to commit publicly to anything anymore. But I will say this that I have set up my new cooling loops here to support easily doing more waterblock and other temperature testing.
