Yes.. you read that right- I need help with an intel pentium 2 CPU.

Ive installed and removed hundreds of slot 1 cpus over the years, but ive never had to remove a cooler. Im attaching a picture- the CPU with the cooler is a p3-500 hopefully the donor cooler

on the left is the P2 350- i need to move the cooler to this but how do I without breaking the plastic clips?

also how do I open the casing the cpu is in?

I dont have a choice but to open it, whoever owned it before me cut the original cooler off, and i cant mount one without removing whats left of the metal to mount to the board itself

also Thank you Pendragon, i kept searching pentium 2 and slot 1 heatsink removal but not finding a guide to actually removing the cooler, just removing the cpu from the slot

If you're talking about something that's kind of glued on, I once put a video card in a freezer to remove the heatsink.
