Facebook will be live-streaming the Oculus Connect 5 event in VR for those with an Oculus Go or Samsung Gear VR and the Oculus Venues VR app. Rift owners using Rift Core 2.0 can use embedded Dash panels and Group Hang-Out to watch it in VR. The rest of us mere mortals will have to watch the regular, flat-earth version here. The YouTube live-stream should be found here. The official Star Wars account on Twitter announced that something new is coming today with a picture of Darth Vader which was announced by Oculus to be part of the event. There is also speculation that the Oculus "Santa Cruz" and next generation Rift devices are going to be announced at the event.

Beginning at 10:00 am PT on September 26, you can join us LIVE as the OC5 keynote unfolds, including all the latest VR and developer news. The esports action kicks off from 12:00 to 5:00 pm PT, heating up the demo hall. That night, watch as the main stage transforms into an esports arena for the VR League's Onward Grand Finals from 6:00 to 10:00 pm PT. Tune in September 27 at 10:00 am PT for Oculus CTO John Carmack's signature unscripted keynote. And last, but not least, get your fix of zero-g sports with Echo Arena competitive play from 12:00 to 4:00 pm PT.

Seeing that Facebook owns Oculus, i'll avoid getting any unit from this company. Ill look at alternatives. Its good to see the tech advance but given the shadiness of Facebook and their data practices i can't trust that they aren't doing something else with this tech. Call me paranoid, I don't care, I will never trust that company.

so who DO you trust?

pimax is just poor mans StarVR.. and even then they're gen 1.5 at best
Well

1. Yes, I'm not looking to spend $2000 - 10,000 on a VR headset, I confess to the poor man category. Even then, it's practically the same resolution, just a better panel.
2. They're actually OUT, unlike StarVR, though it's just for backers, ordering starts next month though.
3. BOTH of them are miles ahead visually than the Vive Pro or Rift.

Yay! More garbage, sub-par hardware, and even more exclusive titles. HARD PASS. Not even Vader can get me to go to the Dark Side.
