Can we focus on the business part of Twitter's reorg rather than right-wing fantasies of what it entails, please?

Simply speaking, Musk is out of his depth. He seems more concerned about the optics of acting quickly and dramatically than an intelligent, nuanced review of what's working and what isn't. There's no need to announce massive layoffs and then backtrack on them days later; just take the time to evaluate the company structure and lay off only those people who are actually redundant. Much less chaotic and keeps things humming until you're ready to shake things up.

And whatever your views on free speech, the truth is that companies don't want their ads running next to tweets from election reality deniers
You mean these people correct?

Christ this thread is a cesspool, bro tell me all about the time clinton didn't concede and sent his followers to the capitol to raid the place? What's the context of any of these clips, are they talking about the electoral college, or is this just the Russia hysteria stuff? I'm guessing a mix of both, the former is a legit criticism of our system. The latter is mostly bull shit but foreign countries do some kind of meddling in elections all the time, they most likely learned it from us. Also, the Supreme Court did steal an election, Al Gore should've been president. This thread should really be shut down.

The context is that Russia hacked the 2016 election and that is why Hillary lost. It fit perfectly with how the Clinton campaign made up the Russian collusion to further incite hatred against Trump.

You are proving our point. Speech you don't like must be shut down.

Why should this thread be shut down? Did you PM Kyle yet to see if he'll do it?

Scratch a prog and find a fascist.
Ah yeah bro I'm a fascist because following rules on message board makes a better conversation than a bunch of screeching hysteria. Lol I shouldn't have replied, conservatives narrative is some how the dominant one in our society but they're being censored. Never seen such a bigger bunch of cry babies. I've been banned from Twitter too it's not hard.

Besides, if they advertise firearms to minors, that's bad business. They aren't the target demo. If you run a gun store, you don't want your ad views to go to random tweens, you want it to go to pro-gun people.
I would think it would a future investment in business, now maybe you as a gun store owner (or not) don't want to waste your money advertising to that demographic but as a whole the industry (mostly makers of said firearms) want to entice those demographics so as soon as they can buy they already got their customers ready. Basically it's identical to what the tobacco industry used to do, except it's now against the law to do that, store owners who sold cigs didn't make money from the kids but the customer base was there just waiting.

More like you can't handle others' thoughts and opinions without exploding.
Yeah I'm really exploding here, laying on my couch just taking it all in watching a mediocre football game and smoking a bowl. You got me dude. I just think this topic should be on Gen May, clearly lost it a while ago.

The entertainment industry already does this, and their pockets are way bigger.

Joe’s Guns and Tackle just wants to let boomers know that all pink handguns are 15 percent off this Mother’s Day.

I really don't get this attack on work from home people. I mean I have been mostly doing it for last 2-3 years and I won record business in my damn pajamas. F the haters lmao. I was simply tired of chit chat at work and lets go to lunch. Couldn't get crap done lmao.

Some people are good at working from home and others suck ass at it.
I don't wanna argue about it. Its unproven fact for majority, i am sure there are some. Our company did best growth in a decade from home for the last two years. I simply don't believe people are lazier when they are happier. It can be challenging for a new job but if you have been doing your job for a bit and have the tools to be successful remotely you can be plenty productive.

I simply don't get hate for either. If you are good from office, go to office, if someone is productive in their pajamas let them work in their pajamas and throw a shirt on for web meetings lmao.

I like you.

I don't like the drugs, though, seems like a gateway to worse kinds.
I'm in my 30s, not becoming a drug addict at this point in my life. People want to do whatever drugs they want in their free time I don't care. I work full time doesn't change my life at all other than my evenings are slightly more relaxed. I'm more in favor of legalizing all drugs than I am all speech (I'd rather people get stoned on their couch than yell "fire" in a crowded building). Truth is nothing will ever be completely "free" because your freedom can cause a lack of freedom or harm to others. There's a give and take with everything, but I'm all for not censoring a political view. I don't understand or know which viewpoints of conservatives were censored. I do know that they're less alone than they think. I've been banned plenty of times. I have a private Twitter I use to browse, but I quit posting years ago. Twitter does what they think is in their business interest, also I'm not sure I'd call Jack Dorsey a leftist or a part of the left.

Who was censored?

I hate to bring up the main man, but Trump was banned. And let's assume, not that I agree with it, that he incited something (he didn't, he actually told people to be civil and when they weren't he told them to go home).

Putin started a war and is killing people daily, still on twitter.

Just as an example. And Putin is in the crosshairs daily, yet still on twitter. Not that I care either way about twitter, but that seems like a pretty strong case for twitter not holding everyone to the same standard.

Edit: I want to reiterate. This isn't about Trump or Putin, it's about policies not being enforced similarly. One we assume incites a riot, the other is murdering people. The latter is still active.

The best example of what was banned was the NY Post article about the Hunter Biden laptop. A major newspaper was banned for an article that turned out to be true and that changed the election.
Aug 26, 2022 · Nearly four of five Americans who’ve been following the Hunter Biden laptop scandal believe that “truthful” coverage would have changed the outcome of the 2020 election.

And Biden would have won with over 100 million record-breaking votes!

And let's not Forget Trump who thinks his daughter is hot and would date her.

Even if this was in context, which, eh, fine, people can believe what they want.

Twitter suppressed rape and incest allegations -- that have not been refuted -- by the current administration. Under government orders.

Please tell me if you think that's just regular business.

There are two sides of the same coin that is the left in the USA - Corporatism and Socialism, which both go hand-in-hand with one another, and play off of one another, but make no mistake that they are one in the same.
When Twitter was under Jack Dorsey's leadership, it was Corporatism at its fullest, and a leftist propaganda machine like no other.

Elon Musk just leveled the playing field, and I might add has not changed a single policy on Twitter, yet look at how the left is portraying everything.
When the left gets that angry about something, perhaps there is a bit of truth in what Elon Musk has brought to light.

The leftist cult in the USA, assuming that is where you are from, does not care about you in the least, and will eventually eat you.
Time to take the red pill and wake up...

EDIT: Ah, looks like you are from the UK, hope you enjoy the new Britcoin CBDC, coming soon to a bank account near you!

They all look like harmless people until you realize they were the ones ban hammering any and all freespeech that went against whatever narrative was embraced on a given day. The propagandists and speech gestapo monsters with cute innocent family photos could have given two shits less about your speech or freedom of expression.

I knew someone, distantly, who got a job at Twitter. He is a psychologist and was paid 750k a year. Now what kind of psycho babble mind control algorithms are they writing that justify paying nearly a million to a PhD in psychobabble engineering if you don't have an agenda to sway vast swaths of humanity with engineered propaganda. Like when everyone on Facebook puts Ukrainian flags as thier avatars because "I support the current thing" having no knowledge of the reasons, the players, the causes, and the motivations of such an event as the Russian Ukraine fight. Just do what you're told lemming and you'll think you thought it up yourself.

Can we get this thread back on track, please?

For that matter, I'd rather show empathy and kindness to laid off employees instead of finding excuses to demonize them, especially when those excuses are built on broad assumptions rather than evidence.
