Maximum voltage for DDR2?

Chip makers give 2.3V as the absolute maximum voltage for DDR2, but many BioStar mobos allow higher voltages for it, as much as 2.837V. If DDR2 is run at that voltage (not that I plan to), how long will it last? BioStar is being weasily with their answers.

I don't think anyone can answer that question. When it breaks, let us know =)

Of course they're being weaselly with their answers. Lifespan drops with increased heat and voltage, but who knows how long they would have lasted originally, or how well cooled your components are.

for reference, this is with 2.65 or 2.7v set in the BIOS iirc, and that ram is still running in my system 2 years later:

Thanks. It's good to know that 2.57V Vdimm won't quickly burn up the memory .
