Is this a good projector screen or can I get something better ?

What are you going to be using it for? That's a portable screen and a pretty niche item.
 
I would recommend against a projector if you need to move it regularly or don't have a dedicated space for it.
 
You presumably don't have a light controlled room. Without a proper mount for the projector and fixed (that is immobile, be it retractable or not) screen, you're going to have a terrible time calibrating it each time you wish to use it (good luck with convergence). You do also realize that that screen is ~12' in length? It's not the most portable thing and is intended for commercial use, where you would be moving tons of gear already anyway. Good luck storing it in a closet. Unless you're using a short throw projector (which will be even worse to set up on a non-tensioned screen), you're going to need probably at least 15' distance between the projector and said screen (it varies based on the throw of the projector). Do you plan on moving a full set of speakers, receiver, and media sources for this too?

No I do not.

I will only use it at dark.

Yes I realize it is 12' in length.

Maybe I am overthinking this. Should I get a QLED tv instead ?
 
If you really want a projector, don't attempt some portable setup. Projector gets mounted to the ceiling or wall. Same story for the screen. If you don't want a large projector screen spoiling the look of your room when not in use, you can get retractable ones that mount from the ceiling. If you really don't want to see it period, you can even get ones that go completely into your ceiling (but they won't be cheap).

You're probably better off with a regular TV.

Sorry but the reason for a portable projector screen is I don't want to put any holes in my walls.

That is the main reason.

Is that possible with a retractable one that mount from the ceiling ?
 
You'd just be putting holes in your ceiling then. Patching drywall is incredibly easy though. Why is that such a holdup?

I think it's a silly thing to not want, but that's just me. You already have tons for all the junction boxes and whatever pictures you've put up on the walls.

As for recommendations, Elite Screens makes some pretty decent ones. There are plenty of other reputable brands too. They have way too many models to recommend specifics however. Have a look at their website to see what might best fit your needs and budget.

I made my own 11 foot screen out of window shade material, and wood from Home Depot. Cost about $300 10 years ago, but I still use it regularly.

I love my projector, but they are definitely not for everyone. A screen that big requires a pretty deep room. I had my room seating set up too close originally. It was fun, but it made action scenes REALLY difficult to follow. Over the years, I've shifted all my seating to the back of the room and it works better.

Do you already have a projector? I used an old bed sheet as a screen for a few weeks.
