It'll be $300 more for an extra 10 GB of currently useless VRAM. I wouldn't expect much movement at all.

10GB more VRAM and ~10% more performance for $300 more. Should move decently well. It'll be $300 more for an extra 10 GB of currently useless VRAM. I wouldn't expect much movement at all.

I predict a major selloff of Ampere cards when the 3080 Ti hits...same way people sold their 2080 Ti's in record numbers after the official Ampere announcement
I am going to ask the wife to sell the house and uproot next to a Micro Center, lol.paterson nj microcenter had 6 3090s. i grabbed a 5600x
A major selloff of the ~ three cards nVidia has sold?
I don’t think so. I don’t think the ti will be better value than the 3080. The 3090, yes.
You also have to realize that $999 will be the base price of the FE model. AIB models tend to be $25-50 more because of "custom cooling" solutions, upgraded components etc.you do realize that a lot of the people who bought 3080 cards did not buy the Founders MSRP version right?...meaning they bought Strix or EVGA FTW3 Ultra or Gigabyte Extreme etc...which also means that they spent $750- $900 on the GPU...you're telling me if you gave those people truth serum that they would not rather pay an extra $100- $150 and get the 3080 Ti 20GB card instead?...of course they would
A good problem to have, I say, hehe. Good luck deciding.Microcenter Denver still had a ton of 3090s... expensive as hell but I need an HDMI 2.1 card lol. Would've preffered a 3080 but have 30 days to decide if I want to keep it or not.

If people buy the AIB model "upgraded" versions, you're gonna need to add an extra $100 or more too.
So an AIB 3080 TI FTW3 is going to cost more like $1100-1200 rather than $999. So it's not just an extra 100-150. It's more like $200-250 more than an equivalent 3080. Is it worth it? That depends on the buyer. But let's be realistic, it will cost an extra $200 and up to get the equivalent 3080 Ti version.
I mean yes, the Founders Edition models are the best value because not only do they have the lowest price, but they are well engineered and made with high quality components.that's true but theoretically those people could also get the 3080 Ti Founders for MSRP...people that bought the current 3080 cards were not being choosy and pretty much bought whatever they could find in stock...so if Nvidia has more 3080 Ti stock at launch then more people might go with the Founders cards (which were well reviewed)
The 3080 FE feels like the best built GPU I've ever owned. You pick it up, and it feels like a solid brick of metal. It is an absolutely beautiful design, and I applaud Nvidia for thinking outside the box for cooling this time around.
Yes, but the FE is only a 2 fan design, and it exhausts some of the heat out of the case, unlike traditional 3-fan designs. I can also overclock the snot out of the FE with minimal tinkering (+150 core has been 100% stable in benchmarks). I never said it was the "best" for performance, but it is still very inventive and creative. The reviews seem to indicate that the beauty is only skin deep though as the actual cooling is lackluster compared to a more traditional 3 fan design.
I still don't understand why the 2nd fan is pull instead of push. The reviews seem to indicate that the beauty is only skin deep though as the actual cooling is lackluster compared to a more traditional 3 fan design.

Initial impressions from the XC3 Ultra that just came in is it’s tiny compared to the FTW3. (2070 Super FTW3)View attachment 297640

Gave my FTW3 to a friend. Got TUF OC. Runs silent and cooler with about same overclock as FTW3. Much better than the FTW3 in all except RGB.
Buy it and sell it here to someone for a $50 profit. This way everyone wins.So my name just came up for the EVGA 3080 FTW3 version with the metal backplate. I had really decided to go with a 6800XT this time and still think I want to go that way when I can get a Nitro or Red Devil. But I couldn't just turn down the 3080 who knows when I will actually get the 6800XT. If that takes a couple months do people think that I will be able to get my money back on it still? I wouldn't scalp it but I also don't really want to lose money on the whole thing. If I knew I was getting the 6800XT next week I would have passed but with the shortage it seemed fairly low risk. It's a lot of money for me to just throw on a credit card and I am pretty risk averse. BTW Kuods to EVGA doing the queue system, I was in the queue for 5 weeks but still I did not have to do anything to get one, and didn't have to pay a scalper price although the list price of the card is $809. Funny thing because I am in California ground is the fastest way for it to be shipped.
Congrats!Just got the tracking number. Oh boy.
What am I doing wrong?
I removed old card, installed new, uninstalled drivers, reinstalled and I'm only getting roughly 2-4 fps more in my Valhalla benchmark, lol.
Just did. Yup, similar to mine.Aren’t AC games notorious for being CPU limited? I’d check out some benchmarks.
Not interested in hunting, I'm on the EVGA wait-list for the 3070, how long have people been waiting? Since implementation?
My FTW3 was running at 1800-1900 rpm on quiet mode and 2000-2100 rpm in OC mode. So yes, whether it was bum or not at least it was exceeding my patience for noise.Initial impressions from the XC3 Ultra that just came in is it’s tiny compared to the FTW3. (2070 Super FTW3)
It didn’t go over 74C during my tests with it and it was silent too. Your post here made me nervous about my incoming FTW3 but it’s gonna run cooler than this thing does and even more silent. I’m wondering if you just got a bum FTW3.
I have a 3080 XC3 Ultra gaming.I've seen some 3080 Blacks go through their queue. I don't think they've manufactured a single XC3 Gaming, though.
That's the point. An Ultra, AKA the most expensive of XC3s.I have a 3080 XC3 Ultra gaming.
