word of advice.......threads like this get jacked for being about liking a pre-mod.......expect flames if you say u love it and it's so original......just a warning for ya:D
 
well, i dont see the front(have it against a wall) and needed somthing exactly like it. i cant mod(dont have the skills, tools, experince, or cash to mess up), and want a mobo tray
 
if all you want is a removeable mb tray, there are many other better and cheaper cases.

Seriously, if you like the asethetics, then I'm sure it is just fine if a bit over-priced.

If you just want a good case then tell us a bit more about your requirements... I've already heard remobable mobo tray... what else do you need in your case?
 
well, cool, side window, largish open space by pci slots(im throwing in a reohstat back their as thats the part of the comp i see(i have the case window fasing out, the front of the case facing my window, which helps with cooling as its frikin cold outside, and the io facing my comp moniter)). sjould be resonably large, have a full side window, and a side latch. and it would be nice to have a front dore.
 
Depends on if you like pre-mod or not. The Super X-Alien case is not overpriced considering for around $150 you get a quality 500w psu, fan controllers, LCD temp display, 6x 80mm Blue LED fans, removable mobo tray, and a nice side window. Now if you want to talk over-priced, the Lian-Li PC65B is around $150 and doesn't even have a psu. It comes with 2x 80mm fans, side window, and mobo tray.
 
but the fan controle is in the front, and i cant reach their as its against the window, and everything else is the same witht the x-alien for about 70 more
 
The Super X-Alien has a better power supply and the fan controllers become very useful, as they can be used to silence the power supply as well as the case fans.
 
well i was thinking of throwing in a rehostat for 10 bucks that seems prity nice, and puting it in the empty space in the back by the pci slots. and my curent alied psu works vary well. i want a superalien, but i just dont think i can justify the price
 
Well then according to you, then someone can make this "fugly" case look good too.
 
i just orderd it after looking at one in fry's.... I wanna make custom eyes that are clear, more windows... maybe one through the eys and a empty bay :0

it looks nice. i am using the fan controller for the psu, and 2 vantec fan controllers for fans/ccfl's

I have other ideas, just need money first lol

its a premod that you altered, but still looks like a premod
 
Anyone who disses these cases are fucked in the head. I have an X-Superalien, modded the eyes to glow, and it looks way better than your "original" Lian-Li's and such. Unless you have the case or have seen it in action, in person, don't diss it. Definately a great case.

We are not personally attacking your case. Some people just don't like pre-modded cases. As Andy said, "its a premod that you altered, but still looks like a premod." You can't expect everybody to like these kind of cases. Some will, some won't. I've seen the Super X-Alien in person at Fry's and while I don't personally like that kind of case, I'm sure others will.
 
i got one from newegg refurb'd+ 1 xtra speeze80mm for 64$. its got a ton of room for stuff inside, and the door keeps my 2 yr old boy off my dvd burner. i want to paint it circus colors to match the multicolor leds, that would be sweet. i think it was a mutch better deal than a smaller lian-li for 175$. sorry mine is not x-alien its a ATXA2XPW-BK/420 mine has vaugely less gay front door thingys.
i love the quick release drive bays and clip in cd rom bays.

420watt psu means stoney power, which always wins.
 
I also have a superalien and I think it is a pretty good case. My only problem with it is that about a couple weeks ago I rewired my whole case and now one of my fan controller knobs doesn't work anymore, it's not that big of a problem though because it still supplies power to my fans.

People have opinions. I don't like the X-Alien either but that's just me. The X-Alien should be a favorite among people who like pre-mod cases. I don't see why, since the front bezel is ugly in my opinion, but then again that's just me.
 
ya its sad that they dont make any plain cases that are like these x-aliens in features. They really come in a good package at decent price.
 
I shopped for a new case for 3 months. Couldn't decide on either Lian-Li, Chieftec, or CoolerMaster ... I wasn't a big fan of pre-mod, but knew what I 'wanted' in a case. I also knew that A) I'm not 16 and don't have countless hours to custom build my computer, and B) I work too much to be spending my free time cutting up a computer for weeks on end. In the end, for the cash, and available features .. the X-Superalien was the case for me. Sometimes I wish I had more time to cut up one of my old cases, but that wont happen. Instead I get a headstart with this one, and I can do mods here and there, as opposed to starting from scratch. I really love fully modded cases, but one thing I don't like is how insulted and insecure alot of [h] users get when they hear the word pre-mod. I mean shit, because of hard working modders the pre-mod industry was born. Remember that you mod what you want, and people buy what they want. If this forum was called.. I'm a crazy leet modder who's insecure with anything that threatens my nerdness, then those comments would be ok. But this is Cool Cases. Much love for the [h], but some people need an attitude adjustment :/

A) lumping all modders to be 16 is an insult
B) just because you dont have time, doesnt mean you need to get a premod case to "show your support" to the modding community - there are other ways

hell, i dont know if i speak for the community, but a beige case is better than a premod that looks tacky

but like i said before, if you like your case thats all that matters
 
im just looking for a nice big side window. thats all :p i like the fetures of the x, (the 90 deg. hdd racks, the mobo tray, ext, and i dont have the skills to do that stuff.
 
No I love modding, my old case I spent like 6 weeks on. I love these forums, but I hate flamers that get insulted by pre-mods in a forum called "Cool Cases" not "OMG HARDCORE MODDING ONLY, NO PRE-MODS" .. thats all.
 
ok enough, everyone needs to chill out a bit...

btw those "turbo case" power supplies suck, hard... we have them @ an ecafe and out of 30 machines about 10 of them have died in like 4~5 months...
