There's a possibility that im a bored billionaire.

they came to the conclusion that RTX just doesn't work well, at least in BF1. This is using the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Ti OC mind you. Not a 2070 2080 or even a regular 2080ti, its an OC model. $1300 for 23,24,30 fps minimums. I don't want it to drop every minute and a half ~(1/100) to shit frames, if it really is only 1% lows.

if you find that acceptable, thats fine.

It is because it is new and 1 game so far,...........

The same happened with every new thing that came out as stated this isn't new at all, regardless, it works and is playable, and only 1 map in multiplayer, let's actually wait to see how other developers handle this before trying to trash the tech completely, there are reasons why it has a high price.

What a bummer, 2080 performance at 2080 prices without the 2080 feature set.

Only people who would really be interested in such a card are the people who need the 16GB of ram.

Competition is good for consumers! As for RTX, it is in its infancy stage yet and is kind of worthless. Also 8GB VRAM is too low on that card, look at [H] review where they explore memory usage. Overall, 8GB is pretty low for 4K gaming, much less RTX/DLSS which needs copious amount of video memory which did not increase at all on RTX line. I think tight memory may be one of the big limiting factors in this new series. As for AMD, good for them and it's great that they bumped VRAM to 16GB. I hope they light a fire under NV asses, even if it's a small fire.

AMD already sells this near exact card already “for deep learning”:
