[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears for Nvidia, AMD, Intel, PS5, XBOX

So, having not bought a GPU from retail since like a HD 4890 (every since then has been used), is there a way to get a notification when best buy has the 4090 founders edition in stock?

7900xt for $700 in MicroCenter. In store pickup only

MicroCenter now offers Radeon RX 7900 XT for $699 with in-store pickup only

Originally launched at $899, the RX 7900 XT has just dropped $200.

This feels like the price at which this card should have launched worldwide

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-rad...-ever-699-at-microcenter-with-in-store-pickup

the lower price only shows up in the cart, so one should make sure to select the store first and check pricing at checkout. We (VideoCardz) confirmed that the price applies to PowerColor reference and Hellhound custom models.

In case anyone has been holding out for an affordable 1080p ultra / 1440p medium / 4K low card

Nice, for the price of a Series X or PS5 you can get an "affordable" 1080p ultra card.

Best Buy’s system still fucks around, after all this time.

I bought a GPU online, last night, to pickup in store today. During the checkout process, it said it’s reserved for 15 minutes. I finished checkout with minutes to spare.

Today I’m halfway across town (Portland), on my way to pick up. And I get an email the GPU is now unavailable and it’s been cancelled and refunded.

Unable to call the store directly. Routes me to the Philippines every time.

Somehow I am not surprised. That's rough. F

My last experience with Best Buy was an impromptu trip for an external NVME enclosure. They had an in-house branded one... usb-c port + cable included, thermal padding, for $15! I dont think I'll have a more positive Best Buy experience than that. Shocked they had anything, let alone not behind glass for $70.

I have been getting stuff from BB, shipped to my house and kind of like newegg of the old days, most stuff is at the door step in 2 days with free shipping.

I would have still gone to the store asking about my card, feign ignorance if they said they emailed you a cancellation. The 15 minutes bit I can understand, because they don't want to keep things reserved for that long, but if the GPU is unavailable what exactly were they reserving? But yeah, I'd show up and say "where's my GPU!"

Do the stores even carry the 4090 FEs? I know every time I have seen them they are shipping from the warehouse for pickup. I almost bought one the other day also, and it would take a few days before I could pick it up.

I found it faster to ship to your home by a day.

It didn't give me the option when I saw it in stock. It only allowed store pickup and only allowed select stores which was even weirder considering it wasn't in stock in the stores.

Thats kind of odd like they flushed the warehouse of them and vented to the stores, I know my AM5 cpu / board combo sold out at warehouse for the dirt-cheap price of $289.98 like it was a flush sale.

6800 for 430 usd in newegg

Going by trends/leaks/rumours so far, it seems neither will TSMC reduce their prices nor will AMD/Nvidia (& maybe Intel) switch to cheaper nodes.

So your best bet is to watch prices of 6800/6800xt & buy it at close to $400/$450 respectively (if they hit that price)

the equivalent budget card on nvidia would be the 3060 12gb. Apparently nvidia has lots of inventory left

if you are looking for used cards then something like 6700xt/6750xt or 2060 12gb should do it.

BB has 4090s again for order for store pickup in a week or so. Starting to get more and more tempted, but kind of wanting to see what the new Intel chips look like since I need to build from the ground up.

If anyone wants a 7800 XT reference design at mrsp, it's available at newegg now https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-radeon-rx-7800-xt-21330-01-20g/p/N82E16814202437

Not a hot or warm deal but hard to find 7800 XT at msrp other than paying extra premium for better coolers. Those AIB cards at mrsp are selling so much quicker.
You can also combo it with a Solidgm 1TB dramless SSD, for $7 more. Or a 512GB Solidgm P44 performance drive with DRAM.
