Was about to click pay after waiting for my turn in line (after 2FA) but decided to follow everyone that this is not a great value card. Would buy if it is $899, lol.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

So much this.

I was able to snag a 4090 FE from BB's drop today. Had a windforce initially, but somehow managed to get the FE in cart and cancel the windforce to get the FE at 1599. I'd have been happy with the 7900 XTX Merc 310 and hope for 10% more from the driver maturity, but dang it... I'll have to live with the FE (over EVGA, /sob).

Is there a trick to getting the 4090 FE in your cart at BB? I've been trying off and on for 2 days, and multiple times while F5ing it will show a yellow Add To Cart. I click the button, and a window pops up that says it's sold out. Then, immediately after I F5, it shows a yellow Add To Cart, and the same thing happens, over and over for like 1-2 minutes until the page shows a permanent gray Sold Out button.

One time it said I was in line, and to wait a minute, but then it said it was sold out. Thanks for any help.

I have more luck with the mobile app, but they have been selling out in seconds with the drops today.

Best Buy stock is regional, so as already mentioned if you're in an area with a lot of people - your odds go down. Luckily my region is comparatively pretty empty, so I actually had more than a few seconds to snag a 4090 FE during yesterday's drops.

It doesn't get down to regional availability until you get through the queue after pressing "Add to Cart."

Did BB ask you for a 2FA code sent to your email or texted to phone during the process?

The one time it said I was in line, and to wait a minute, yes, it did. I entered the 2FA code, and then it said it was OOS.

BB seems to force 2FA re-verify on FE's, and seemingly most of the high-demand GPU's, and it's slightly faster to disable email or text based 2FA in BB's Account Settings, and then enable authenticator based. Get Authenticator from the chrome store and that way you can have it in the clipboard ready to CTRL-V in before it even asks for it.

Ultimately the problem is too many others in your area are also gunning for THAT ONE THING EVERYONE WANTS, but being able to shave 2-5 seconds off may make a diff. Also don't open multiple Queues on the same browser/account/IP, because in the recent past it could result in becoming stuck in the queue.

Lol every 4080 I clicked on is still in stock on Best Buy for local pickup including the FE. I added one just to see if it would go through and then I removed it at the final stage before payment.

The 4080 is a paradox because I think at least the FE version is great even at $1199 for anyone that doesn't quite need 4090 power, because it's almost exactly 3/4 of a 4090, for exactly 3/4 the price.

I reckon it's going to drop to its planned-from-beginning MSRP of $999 either after the 4070Ti announcement - or as a 4080 Ti gets closer to slotting in to the big intentional gap - and then you won't be able to touch one at $999, and then people will be lamenting not paying the extra $200 back when the opportunity existed.

My gigabyte 4090 oc is gonna be ready for pick-up this weekend if someone here wants for cost plus ship. I heard crickets on the tuf oc a few weeks ago and then 3 PMs the day I canceled it lol.

I picked up my GB 4090 today from Bestbuy. Still haven't opened it. I don't think it fits in my other case... :confused:

My local Micro Center has a crap ton of Zotac 4080 cards, but nothing else. Seems like they can't give away Zotac cards. :D

That's why I tend to stick with very simple cases, never going to be too attached to a case, and if I need to go bigger an upgrade isn't going to cost an arm and a leg, plus mine hides behind my monitor on a corner desk in my office so it's not like I need to actually see the case other than reaching over the monitor to hit the power button

The FE 4090 was in stock a few minutes ago. I clicked on add to cart and went through the line for a few seconds then got the code and entered it and then the mofo went out of stock in the final process.

Crap the same thing just happened again a few minutes ago. These cards just come in and out of stock at such random times.

If they're giving you an actual code after waiting in line, they should give you at least 3 minutes to make the purchase before removing it from your cart. That sucks.
