It was explained. If You wanna think I have a problem with people selling their cards and buying new like the other genius did, knock yourself out.Oh, I did, it still was badly formulated. Please explain teacher, I need extra credit.![]()

He's pointing out that if you buy used at presumably also inflated prices then you are still supporting the high prices indirectly. Used prices are usually still a function of the new price. In that case and in the context of kirbyrj's recommendation to "buy used i guess" that might be a bad idea.

Radeon RX 7000 vs. GeForce RTX 40 (speculative) performance prediction, based on known perf of already released SKUs and chip data of not yet released SKUs.

https://hardforum.com/threads/intel...g-and-xe2-hpg-graphics-architectures.2025389/A look at the current graphics card market reveals a development that can now be called clearly positive compared to two weeks ago. — as per an analysis by 3dCenter.org of GPU prices

The question that arises from this is, of course, how sustainable this development is - or whether this would not simply level out the additional price exaggerations from mid-May and then nothing further (downwards). The delivery quantities cautiously speak a different language, apparently now substantially more goods are arriving. This was indicated by a tweet from VideoCardz during the week . Of course, everything now depends on whether these delivery quantities of the completed week can subsequently become permanent. Only then can the mountain of demand that has been pent up for several months be removed - which will then break out as soon as street prices drop to a reasonably tolerable levelshould .

Now when you conspire with a "rival" to do it, then yeah you get illegal price fixing.
And much like in court if everyone actually told the truth we wouldn't need lawyers.Which can't be proved, if so.
Unless you can FOIA request to AMD/Nvidia and ask![]()
Frankly if they both do it I would expect it's not difficult to prove.Which can't be proved, if so.

30 series FE clearance at BB. Selling out fast, must have nearby availability.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 GPUs See Huge Price Cuts At BestBuy: 3090 Ti For $880, 3080 Ti For $720, 3080 For $420, 3070 For $300 US

The cards in particular are the Founders Edition variants which have been out in the market for over two years now.
We will find out whether this is accurate but I don't think it is. Those FEs were unicorns months before this fire sale. I hadn't seen a 3060 Ti FE available since late December. Don't even remember the last time I saw a 3080 or 3070 FE for sale. All of the other brands' 3060s 3060 Tis, and 3070s are still massively overpriced at Best Buy.It’s a good sign that Best Buy felt it needed to take drastic action to clear the channel of old inventory. That can only mean new hardware is incoming, likely in the same price categories as the cards it slashed prices.
unfortunately one model they didn't change was the whole order online, pick up locally, but online stock depended on local stock. Translation: If you live near any sort of large city with a potential computer base those cards were already long gone or said fire sale lasted a little longer than how long a single match lasts. Part of me thinks if they simply shipped cards to anyone who was willing to buy them they could have sold out of all the old inventory without needing to fire sale anything.something changed this week because Best Buy took a blowtorch to that model.
Their GTC Keynote is March 21’st so an announcement there for an April launch makes sense. It’s the way TSMC’s production schedule works. Besides around Easter is when consumer spending picks up. Releasing before then falls in the post Christmas spending drought. My assumption is RTX 4070 and 4060 are in production. It sounds like April (lame) for a release date for those.
I'm going to throw out my guesses for this gens pricing. The 4070ti is $800 (unicorn price), so I'm expecting a 4070 for $700, and a 4060 for $500 (need to leave that $100 range for the 4060ti!) ... yeah fuck it, I'm out if this ends up being the norm.My assumption is RTX 4070 and 4060 are in production. But duuuude, it's such a steal if we just compare it to last gen's $2000 gpu! Just make a terrible value halo card every gen and we can make next gen bad prices look like a deal of a lifetime. Also a bad price. Hey whatever, people want to turn mid tier cards into nearly 4 figures be my guest. Gotta protect those margins, lol. It's a steal compared to the $1200 3080ti too.
X70 cards weren't "mid tier" ever, and x80ti were always high end hence the pricing. Margins? Who cares about their margins? I don't own any Nvidia stock, do you? Also a bad price. Hey whatever, people want to turn mid tier cards into nearly 4 figures be my guest. Gotta protect those margins, lol.
This is true so I have to ‘like’ it, but as somebody who paid north of $1200 for their 3080TI is there an option for “I wholeheartedly agree with the statement and resent you for putting in writing my shame I thought I could take to the grave”?It's a steal compared to the $1200 3080ti too.
Hehe, though if you got it relatively early you did get a lot of extra use out of itThis is true so I have to ‘like’ it, but as somebody who paid north of $1200 for their 3080TI is there an option for “I wholeheartedly agree with the statement and resent you for putting in writing my shame I thought I could take to the grave”?
I feel the “Like” button here wholly insufficient for the meaning I need to convey.
If only mine was one of the, “my GPU died and I need something now but I don’t want to spend this kind of money on a downgrade so I guess this is what it is” purchases.Hehe, though if you got it relatively early you did get a lot of extra use out of it.

X70 defined and literally means MID-TIER. What are you on about?X70 cards weren't "mid tier" ever

Nvidia and AMD both just aim for key dates and negotiate with TSMC for production times that let them meet those dates, it's a tricky balancing act.Yeah it makes sense, but I recall some GPUs being released in previous years around Jan/Feb but I might not remember correctly. I was hoping to have something new around March before all the new games I am interested come out.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
*60 is mid-tier. *70 is enthusiast, but the price/performance ratio occasionally makes it a tempting pick for mid-tier buyers.X70 defined and literally means MID-TIER. What are you on about?
Honestly the word "enthusiast" has always been dumb as a relation to GPU tier/price point.*60 is mid-tier. *70 is enthusiast, but the price/performance ratio occasionally makes it a tempting pick for mid-tier buyers.

And here I thought "enthusiast" was the person who always was leading the charge with the latest and greatest, i.e. *80 and above.*60 is mid-tier. *70 is enthusiast, but the price/performance ratio occasionally makes it a tempting pick for mid-tier buyers.
I figure enthusiasm is a state of mind, and it's less about how much you spend, but how much you love and adore, research and optimize your hardware. And here I thought "enthusiast" was the person who always was leading the charge with the latest and greatest, i.e. *80 and above.
