I really enjoyed the Fallout series, I haven’t played them all but I enjoyed them. Got a PS5 recently, haven’t gamed in years (years and years), is there anything I need to do to get this update? I have the PS game pass and Fallout 4 was one of the “free” games.
Nothing. When it launches it will probably be a regular update, like Skyrim was.

Probably going to do a Survival playthrough soon. Any recommended mods specifically for Survival? Want to stay as close to vanilla as possible, I was originally going to do it unmodded.

Do it unmodded first. If you find that you are struggling greatly then get a mod that reduces the affects.

I ain't no bitch.
Mostly just looking for UI and QoL mods. It's been 3 or 4 years since I last played.
The only mods I would recommend on that difficulty, are the portable sleeping bag mod and the mod that enables quick saving.
Both which pretty much defeat the purpose of survival mode. You could also just round it off with a good damage multiplier.

I use the all Legendary enemies mod in conjunction with a level scaling mod, and the multiple enemies mod with the above. And I use one of the enable more enemy spawn mods if I get bored, as well as getting the all DLC creatures to spawn in the Commonwealth mod.

I would get you all the mods names from the Nexus, but I'm too lazy, and since this is not your first rodeo, I'm sure you can find them.
And I'm drunk.

I loved fallout 3. So I tried fallout 4. Holy crap. Big difference. There is no tutorial showing you how to do anything. No idea how to travel. Or build anything. Or use the damn suit. Or what to do. I gave up. I just don't have the time to faff around for hours on end figuring out how to even basically play the game. Fml.

Spent the last few days grabbing mods. Went through my old modlists from past playthroughs, some Reddit recommendation threads, popular mods on Nexus, etc. I tried to avoid anything that altered base gameplay elements; no weapon mods, no enemy mods like Super Mutant Redux, etc. Also tried to keep it small, I don't want the game to get busted halfway through.

I did end up taking Journey to fast travel between settlements. I also took Sim Settlements 2, even though the original mod broke my last playthrough in 2018.

Also extremely impressed with FallUI. No more dealing with DEF_UI and all the sorting/icon mods. It's all just in one package.

You'll have to be careful with SS2 (plus it's expansion). Do things in the exact order for quests, not a lot of leeway because of the scripts. Positioning relative to the quest object is important, too, many times you'll think the script went off the rails when you needed to be a few feet to the west when interacting. Plot types can be confusing, you need certain entertainment plot types to 'train up' settlers to use in the HQ in part 2. The depth to this mod is incredible. Also, I'll throw my usual recommendation for Companion Ivy. Be careful with 'Startmeup', it doesn't play nice with some other mods. I start the game and play through to just before exiting V 111, save, and copy that save someplace safe. When I need to start over I just pull out that save so I don't have to drag through the start scenes. Mods don't load until you exit V 111.
