ESXi really stop working if u dont buy a serial #??

Just curious if esxi stops working if you dont have a proper key for it.


I have 5.5 licensed, but I wonder if newer versions will make better use of my newer hardware.

As far as I know I use no extra features. just local vms.

Nope. If you're on the free version, it works the same.
