eBay is finally implementing a ban on all international trading of elephant ivory by the end of June.

An eBay representative said the company is tightening its policy on ivory sales and that the ban on international trading in elephant ivory would begin by the end of June. The International Fund for Animal Welfare said eBay's move is the first online international trading ban of elephant ivory.

That's okay. I only buy powdered tiger testicles to smoke for virility. Ivory never worked for me.

Good to see ebay head in the right direction.
 
kudos to ebay for stepping up but in the end it won't do much to stop the savages who will continue to kill & mutilate animals for the almighty dollar, gotta love humanity

Unfortunately, you are right there. This will not do much to stop those who kill and mutilate elephants and other ivory-bearing animals for their own greed.

I also notice that this is only for INTERNATIONAL sales, meaning that someone could buy something through a person in the same country who they know, then have it shipped to them overseas! Quite a few ways to get around this, the one I mentioned being only the most obvious of them.
 
Yeah. Id doubt ebay is the common place people sell and buy elephant ivory lol. Some days I am amazed what people sell on ebay.
 
If elephant only tasted good we'd have more elephants and ivory than we'd know what to do with.
 
EXACTLY!!! The solution is to GM the Elephants to make them taste like Chicken... DING!

Then we'll have plenty. I like it.

OR...

We could vaccinate them and the other nice animals against anthrax, then use Ames strain to "cleanse" the entire continent. Leave it unpopulated as a wildlife refuge forever more. :eek: :p :D
 
Damn, now where am I going to find my Ivory at?
