The Dolphin Emulator is back on the Google Play store after a long hiatus. As always you have to acquire and own the Gamecube and Wii games that you run on the emulator. If you're not interested in running an emulator on your potato phone, then the Windows, Mac, and Linux versions can be found here.

Dolphin is an emulator for two recent Nintendo video game consoles: the GameCube and the Wii. It allows PC gamers to enjoy games for these two consoles in full HD (1080p) with several enhancements: compatibility with all PC controllers, turbo speed, networked multiplayer, and even more!

How well does this actually perform on flagship phones like an s8 or s9?

Generally still not all that well, but it's highly dependent on the title emulated. In general higher end phones can run lower end 3d titles. and many current phones can run low end 2d titles.

It certainly doesn't help that many phones have OpenGL/Vulkan drivers that are non-conformant with the specifications. Dolphin's had a lot of workarounds over the years to deal with drivers not doing the right thing.

What are some of your favorite GameCube/Wii games to play with the family?

I tried it on the Shield over a year ago ... Gamecube games worked most of the time. As an added bonus, all tend to work well with Shield controller. Wii games were much less successful. Many close to working, so the year may have helped.
