There's a fairly substantiated rumor that Sony will announce a port for a pretty big game for PC, later this year. But...I'm betting its Bloodborne before Demon's Souls.I was hoping that at the 6 month mark they might announce a PC release...so far nothing...I'm still holding out hope that this eventually comes to PC

However....they might just do a PS5 version of Bloodborne and not do PC...
I'm the opposite----I never had a PS4 and would like a 60fps Bloodborne. I do have a PS5 now....so it doesn't matter to me if its via PS5 or PC.since I already played Bloodborne on PS4 and I've never played Demon's Souls, I'd much rather see a PC version of Demon's
Bloodborne is not going to happen. The developers pretty much abandon the game. They never even released a PS4 pro patch for it. I doubt we will get anything more for the game. I really don't understand why tho. I know it was praised but that doesn't n.always translate to sales. There's a fairly substantiated rumor that Sony will announce a port for a pretty big game for PC, later this year. Sony has the rights to Demon souls. They have none to Bloodbourne so they can't force the developers to do anything nor have another developer do it. It is why Dark souls exists and they didn't continue with demon souls.Sony is weird about how they contract third parties to develop exclusives.
In Demon's Souls PS5, you can't delete characters. Bluepoint forgot to put that in. The game has been out for a few months now. Sony has not contracted them back, to patch the game for that feature. Even though Bluepoint is most likely working on another Sony game right now. In other words, the relationship is still very close.
Anyway, a PC port of Bloodborne most likely would not be handled by From Software. A. because another team could do a better job and B. because they probably don't have time to do it.

I think the radio silence on any sort of patch, upgrade or remaster speaks volumes IMHO... I think it's going to be Bluepoint's next big project (unless they've already announced something I haven't seen yet) but like you said, it would be years away. They had a perfect opportunity to do something with Bloodborne at launch since it was part of the PS Plus set. At this point I've given up on it. We might see a remaster in the distant future (like Demon's Souls got), but they don't seem to be very eager to do anything with it in the short term.

A Bloodborne remaster is an interesting thought experiment though because it's obviously one less generation away than Demon's Souls was. If they were remaking every single asset like they did with Demon's Souls then a really long development cycle is understandable, but if assets from Bloodborne's development are on hand still it *could* speed up development quite a bit (for example, high res base textures that were used to make the lower res ones used in game to manage texture memory could be used in the remaster with little or no reworking.)
*shrug* maybe not, but companies often tend to stick with what's successful for them. see also: From SoftwareI don't see Bluepoint doing 2 Souls games back-to-back....
i think the souls games (and their spinoffs) work well either way, as a one and done experience or one you can sink your teeth into with multiple playthroughs. you can try wildly different builds (stats, gear, play styles) or focus on getting items or finishing quests you missed. i don't know how demon's souls stacks up compared to the later games in terms of replayability but i know i personally plan to go through again with a different build. also it's just fun roaming such a beautiful world.I would love if they made a remastered version of Bloodborne. I tried playing the original on PS4 after playing DS3 but just couldn't due to framerate and graphics (didn't help that I died a ton to one boss despite getting it to like 2% health lol)
Also, anyone enjoy this game but don't see themselves going back to it? I should have gotten a physical copy so I can resell. After beating Demon's Souls I think I am much more likely to replay something like Dark Souls 3 which really polished certain mechanics versus ever playing this again.
Personally, I think that Bluepoint is either making Demon's Souls 2 or Bloodborne 2.

I seriously doubt that...From Software is not going to let another developer handle a major sequel...Bluepoint are the remaster/remake kings...I know Bluepoint mentioned that they want to branch out and create games other then remasters but no way will it be a Souls game...
Wouldn't be their decision. They're a contract studio. It's whatever they're hired to do.
Narrator: "but there would be no PC release"November 12th is the 1 year anniversary so I'm hoping that they announce a PC release...
1. The ultimate arc of Demon's Souls, is to do something about the "Old One". Which is the original demon and has brought all of these demons into the world. You have to fight your way through the world, in order to unlock passage to where the Old One lurks. By defeating the "Arch" Demon's of each world area, you essentially prove your right and worth, to confront The Old One.So... I want to ask all of you Souls fans a couple questions or just discuss this game for a second. I am not a "hardcore" fan of this series. I never cared for these games, and I am just not a big fan of difficult games. After a long day at work, I like to come home and just rot my brain for an hour or two and feel like I accomplished something after unwinding after a long day. So I tend to play games with difficulty settings on "Easy."
That being said, I actually enjoy Demon's Souls. It's the first game "like" this I have bought since Bloodborne which I also quit b/c it was just too hard and unsatisfying. Demon's Souls on PS5 just feels good. It is hard, but not so much so that I am crying or throwing a hissy fit... lol. In any case I have to ask because every time I sit down to play this game now I find myself just kind of... lost.
I understand the story for the most part, but running around this castle I am just confused. Maybe some of you can help me clear some of this confusion up...
1. Is my objective really just to reach some sort of an end? Within the first 15 minutes of starting a new game I encountered a huge fat monster that killed me in one swipe and now I am "dead" with only half of my life bar available to me. Do I get better gear and "level" up my character or something so I can better fight these things?
2. What's the point of the doors with fog? Are they merely there to just load the next section? With no map or clear objective I am just lost running around most of the time.
3. I scoured the map on what to do, and I've basically hit a snag where there is a path straight ahead that leads down a brick path that a dragon keeps torching with fire... so can't run past there. If I take the path to the left before that then 2 dragons are blocking my way so I can't go that way.
4. When I die what exactly do I lose other than half my health? Do health items respawn or are they all gone once I've collected all of them?
5. What is the story of the big room where you end up after you die?
This is a excellent response and I really appreciate the time you put into responding. To clarify...1. The ultimate arc of Demon's Souls, is to do something about the "Old One". Which is the original demon and has brought all of these demons into the world. You have to fight your way through the world, in order to unlock passage to where the Old One lurks. By defeating the "Arch" Demon's of each world area, you essentially prove your right and worth, to confront The Old One.
2. Mostly, Fog doors are for bosses. However, there are a couple of fog doors which reveal more of a level. I'm not really sure what that's about, really. As it doesn't initiate a loading screen or something. I think its mostly just a sort of way point like----hey you've made it pretty far, sort of thing.
3. Is that a bridge with a bunch of enemies on it and then the dragon flys over and torches it? or some other part?
4.When you die, you lose some of your health bar and whatever souls you were carrying. You can regain those souls, if you make it back to where you died and touch your blood stain. If you die again before you return to your bloodstain; those souls are gone forever.
Healing items are mostly dropped from enemies. Any items you "find" in chests or on static corpses, are usually a one-time pickup. Overall, Demon's Souls actually gives you too many healing items.
There is a ring you can find, which limits your health loss from dying. You completely regain your max health, when you regain your human form/body (by using a stone of ephemeral eyes).
5. The Nexus is sort of a Limbo, but also a temple imbued with power. Your soul is bound to the Nexus and it is responsible for pseudo resurrecting you. The Nexus also provides connection to the various parts of the world, so, its a real, physical place. All areas used to be connected, like a normal world. But once the Demon's started laying waste---the world was fragmented, to try and stop/slow the scourge of demons. The Archstones are the portals to each, separated world area. One of the areas, the land of the giants, became so bad, the arch stone was destroyed. In order to contain the badness there, from spreading.
Souls are the currency for everything. You use souls to buy items/weapons/upgrades and also purchase/gain stats. This is a excellent response and I really appreciate the time you put into responding. To clarify...
3. Regarding the bridge: There is a bridge or overpass where if you stand at the end of it, a dragon keeps coming in and dousing the place with flames over and over and over. As long as you stand near this bridge the dragon will throw flames on this overpass until you walk away from it. I don't see any way across this bridge.
4. So souls are what I am collecting every time I kill an enemy? I am assuming that's what "swirls" into my character upon an enemy's death. What do I do with the souls that I am collecting? Why is losing them a bad thing?
I'm on it! Figuring I have to kill that red dragon before I can, but that fat monster killed me so fast I am afraid of everything.you just gotta cross that bridge, man!
Which level are we talking about? Is it in the Boletaria archstone? 1-1, 1-2?I'm on it! Figuring I have to kill that red dragon before I can, but that fat monster killed me so fast I am afraid of everything.![]()
A couple of things which may be rooted in why you enjoy Demon's Souls more:That being said, I actually enjoy Demon's Souls. A couple of things which may be rooted in why you enjoy Demon's Souls more:
1. It has very intelligent encounter design. The level design is based around creating interesting situations for the player. And enemy placement is basically always done in consideration of the level environment. Much more so overall, than any of the Dark Souls games. The Dark Souls games certainly have brilliant parts. But Demon's Souls is rarely not brilliant. And that also bleeds into invasion. Demon's Souls doesn't have obvious "arenas" forced into levels, for players to do PVP. there are some areas which open up and lend themselves to that. But most of the time, you and the invader alike, are having to consider the environment as much as you are each other's moves.
2. Some of the bosses are more about mood and world building, than they are about being a difficult boss. It means Demon's Souls has some extra memorable flavor to it. But it also means that some of the bosses aren't exactly a fight.
More or less.I've played every Souls game except Demon's Souls...so DS is considered the easiest Souls game?...with the best level design?
I've played every Souls game except Demon's Souls...so DS is considered the easiest Souls game?...with the best level design?
The one true flaw of Demon's Souls. Some of those core systems are not explained at all.So two things that were NEVER mentioned to me in-game until I just not watched a video about it on YouTube... you can upgrade your character and it has to be at the Nexus after you beat Phalanx... you can fix your weapons also in the Nexus... you can store unwanted items in your inventory in the Nexus in a stash...
I am just now starting to like the game, but holy shit there should have been clearer instructions on how this game works. There are still some things I am unsure of, but for the most part I understand a lot more now. You shouldn't have to go online to figure out HOW to play a game. That's just poor game design imo... especially this being my first FromSoftware game I have ever played... I didn't even fucking know I am collecting souls as a means of currency...
