Corsair DDR3 timings messing with my computer and my head...

Hey, I've been having problems with my Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 kit (CMY16GX3M2A1866C10)
My board won't set the correct speed for this RAM... It automatically sets it to 1333MHz Cas9 when it is rated at 1866MHz Cas10... Even when I set the XMP to profile1 it runs at something really weird like 1792MHz... I've tried manually setting the speed to 1866 and the timings to 10-11-10-30-40 as the label and CPU-Z suggests but I get lagging, random lock-ups and sometimes even BSODs ... I have tried in different slots and have ran memtest and got no errors... I have read many stories about this RAM being able to run at rated speed (and upto 2133) at cas9 without any problems and have been recommended this RAM by lots of different people for it's overclocking ability.
I would be happy to get this stable at 1866 Cas10 but would prefer 1866 Cas9
Could someone please help me tweak this RAM and possibly the rest of my system as I am about to give up on it completely.
Thanks

try it at 1792 like the xmp loads but tighten the timings to c9 1.65vdimm

sounds like your mb\memory controller may not like running higher speeds but im not sure which v you would increase to help with that on your mb

Thanks for your reply... However I have pretty bad OCD especially when it comes to my computer so there is no way I'd be able to run it at such irregular speeds.
Also, setting the xmp, for some strange reason negates my CPU OC, windows sees it as stock speed no matter what I have in bios if xmp is enabled.
Both my CPU and Motherboard have an 1866MHz MC... The board can handle up to 2000 if Overclocked... Although, funny thing, might be relevant, might not but, AIDA64 says the memory controller limits the RAM voltage to 1.2v... But yeah, I can't figure out how to change the volts for the MC.

EDIT:
And 1.65v...? are you sure?, that is a bit high for these modules, they are rated at 1.5v

I'm assuming this is your signature machine? My FX-8320 won't boot with the memory set at 1866 (and it doesn't like 8GB sticks at anything above 1333). I am, however, able to run 4GB sticks close to 1866 by adjusting the CPU base clock and memory divider. You have to fiddle around and see what multiplier/bclk works best for you.

DDR3 1600 is a nice little boost over 1333 but there are diminishing returns beyond that.

i have samsung ddr3 rated to 1600c11 1.35v it overclocks to 2400c10 1.55v and has the same chips g.skill uses in there 2400c10 1.65v kits
not all ram responds well to extra v but there is only one way to find out and its extremely unlikely for 1.65v to do any harm to ram or the memory controller but you can start at 1.6v if you like

try 1600 c7 or c8 if the above suggestions dont work
1600c7 is faster than 1866c9 anyway
