I wouldn't go that far. If people feel it's a bad product I for one want to know why. It would just be nice if they could go about it in a way where they don't come off competently elitist about it.

Obviously a popular product. They are sold out on amazon and newegg now.

It's very obvious this isn't going to be as good as doing it yourself, and the people being elitist about it don't understand that a lot of people don't want to sleeve themselves, so this is a nice solution for the people that don't want to sleeve themselves.
 
I just wanted to say thanks to the OP for posting this. My current case and power supply make it sort of pointless to get these, but someday I think they will be worth looking at again.
 
Wow, I came late to this topic, then again I don't browse cases here as much as I do B-T or HLuxx. As for the cables, they are a great alternative for those who cant wait for the Psychopack to get restocked or are simply looking for a cheaper alternative.

At $9.99, it's pretty hard to beat. (select 24-pin which is 68.95)

My only peeve with all pre-bought sleeving kits is that most of them are extensions, meaning more cabling. For the work involved it's a great investment... but if you know how to sleeve well, Murdermod's quality is second to none. I'm happy with Nils' kit.

i think that it's gonna give a lot more peeps the fully sleeved look, i myself have mdpc-x in my system, but that is just because thats the way i wanted to do it and knew the psu i was using was gonna be in tere for a bit, for people that are building piece at a time and are using a "temp" psu, these are an awesome edition imo, because they get the modded look, without putting all the time ni a temp psu, i think its a great product and will really boost the astetics of some of the newer modders boxes,
MOD ON guys, have fun, thats what it's all about.
 
IMO what happens under the rear panel is just as impt as what's going on on the other side.

Hey bud . . . did you end up getting the RV02 like you planned?

I'm fighting picking up an FT02 every single day . . . don't know how much longer I can hold out. So if you don't have the RV02 already, there might be one available in the South Bay shortly ;)
 
Great post OP!

I love the "sleeved" look but can't be bothered to take the time and do all my cables up, especially when I tend to change out components every 6 months to a year.

These NZXT adapters are perfect for my needs and are a decent price to boot :cool:
I ordered a selection of them the other day and can't wait for them to arrive.
It's just too bad both Amazon and Newegg are sold out of the 24P Motherboard cable.
Guess I'll have to wait until they're back in stock.

if they continue to sell well perhaps NZXT will see what a market there is for this and they or maybe even another company will release more of them! Like different colors or tighter braid! Here's hoping anyway.

Hey...lol I actually did. But I never used it and sold it. Still kinda tight on cash and been saving up for the fermi launch.

Man...can't you ever just hold on to a case, lol? There's hardly a difference between the RV02 and the FT02 besides aesthetics and some aluminum. I'd hold on to the rv02 if I were you.

If I didn't break the revolving or pop out lens on my camera I would post my setup. Took me about 2 hours to get it almost perfect to my liking and I really feel like showing off. Oh well time for a new camera. :(
 
Ended up buying one of these extensions to see the quality and thought I would post a comparisson against MDPC-X (aka murdermod) sleeving to help some people decide.

Impressions: I prefer the tigther weave of the MDPC-X sleeving and actually the CleanCut Sleeving is not bad either. The NZXT extension for the price is not bad for someone who doesnt want to pay the price premium of the MDPC-X sleeving and time it would take to sleeve it.

Thanks for the pics jpm. I went ahead and ordered a few from amazon since I had some credit there. They should arrive the same day as my new psu. Someday I would love to do the mdpc, but for now that is just not in the budget.
 
Thanks for the pics JPM... and to those who are acting like they have stock in MDPC, the difference between NZXT and MDPC is not likely to get you a six figure income, nor get you balls deep in a super model.
 
I got some of the extensions and could not be happier. They look great, especially for the price...no one would be able to tell the difference between it and mdpc while they're inside the case...
 
For the guys in DFW area, or West Coast, these NZXT parts are usually in stock at Fry's, near the fan parts. I saw the sleeved 12" 24-pin ext. for $9.99

I can take some pics of the few that I installed yesterday. However, I don't have anything to compare them to, or photograph with.

Yesterday I installed the 24 pin extender, molex to 4 sata, and molex to 2 sata. I ordered the 8 pin cpu extender, but amazon is out right now. Anyway, I'm pretty pleased with these cables. The only down side to the molex to sata cables is that the length of cable between the sata connectors is so short that I almost had to break the heatshrink to get the connectors positioned correctly. I have no complaints about the 24 pin though. As someone previously stated, these are not as tightly woven as they could be, but because the cable is black, you can't tell that there are any gaps without holding them up to a bright light (even then it's hard to tell).

I'm considering getting the 6pin vga extenders, but I'm a little concerned about the length. At just under 6 inches it seems like it might be a stretch to route it from behind my motherboard up to my graphics card without the original 6pin ends showing.
 
i bought the nzxt extensions, all good except the pcie extensions are too short. so i figured i would do my own, but murdermod is oos on mdpc-x sleeving, and ordering direct from mdpc-x in germany is a little pricy and may take a while . so i orderd the ppcs from performance pc, and its very nice. doesnt quite have the shine that mdpc-x has, but looks a little better than the nzxt extensions. in the pic, the nzxt atx ext is on the left, next 40' of 1/8" ppcs. then 20' of 3/8" ppcs i got to do my sata cables. its very soft, should be nice to work with. i will post pics when i finish sleeving this weekend.

I just picked up the 24-pin extension yesterday from Frys (they're finally starting to get more cool stuff in) and I am actually really happy with it. It was pretty flexible for the most part and the quality of the sleeve and heatshrink was excellent. I didn't see any color showing through the sleeving and the heatshrink looks like it goes all the way to the bottom of the connector.

I wanted to pick up a PCI-E extension, but at 5.94 inches it is way, way too small. In order to just get it around to the mobo tray in most cases you'll need about 7-7.5 inches, which is a shame cause I really wanted to try it out.

Alas, I think the project came out nice. These really serve no purpose other than to bring your case up to a new design trend or to extend cables (for the rare occasion you need to), but the price was right and I didn't have to do any work other than to install it.

If you have a Frys nearby try em out, or order a few online. I don't think anyone will be disappointed.
 
here is my first try with the ppcs (performance pc custom sleeving?) on a sata cable. this type sleeving does not stretch in width, or barely. as such it was a bitch to pull it over the connectors. it took about 30 min to do this 24 inch cable. i guess i have to work on my heatshrink skills also. i tried some on a red sata cable (this one is black) and absolutely no color showed thru.

I just got done installing the cpu power connector. Looks good, though it's awfully close to hitting the blades of my top fan.

I think the biggest upside with these extensions is you can use them on your next power supply. One set of these should last you a super long time.
 
I see the difference but I would still go with the NZXT. Its not enough to worry about unless you are going for a MDPC type build, and if your that persnickety then everything else in your build better be absolutely diamonds.
 
I think it was mentioned on the last page, but I dont see why sleeving or cable modding would void a warranty as long as the PSU itself was intact... esp with modular cables.
 
I went this way with a 24 pin extension because I am lazy and sleeving is not my idea of fun.

I like a clean look, but am only willing to so far when it comes to sleeving. This was perfect for me. Beats the rainbow effect of the normal PSU end, and minimal work on my part.
 
I'm just buying extentions and resleeving them with MDPC sleeves...that way I get the look but don't lose the PSU warranty. I would have just gone NZXT if I didn't want mixed color sleeving...but I want black and white.
 
I actually just picked up an unsleeved set (24 pin and 8 pin) from SilverStone I plan on sleeving myself. Of course I only have some cheapy eBay sleeving, so hopefully it comes out OK. I will post pics when I'm done.
