The BK advertising department is always cutting edge with annoying advertising. I kind of applaud them. Also, this is another reason to justify my never using any voice controlled devices ever.
And some people think mind controlled devices are a good idea.

When Deadpool broke the 4th wall, he didn't access anything but the joy in my heart while watching in the theater and my living room. If he'd have accessed anything else he would have violated my personal space and my privacy.

It's enough that companies have heavily used annoying commercials to begin with. But, having commercials that break the premise of privacy in your own home by activating devices without your express permission to do so? Unacceptable!

So wait, you put a device with an always listening microphone in your living room and then complain about something violating your privacy by using it? Seriously? lol!

Since I don't have the device they were targeting, I suppose I missed the entertaining hook to get me into their establishment and saw it as simply a boring and forgettable commercial.

Yes, seriously, these companies have no right to purposefully target and take advantage of these devices. Just as they have no right to tell toddlers watching to play with knives or run into the street. Their broadcast is allowed into people's homes as an adjunct to entertainment. To that end, they've surpassed the medium and become an unwelcome intrusive component that was neither planned for or invited by those unwittingly tuned in.

If I were to have one of these devices, disabling the listening functionality or locking access to specific voice prints would hobble the intended functionality of the device and limit its use to those who actually allowed in my home. So, then why have it in the first place?

But, then I suppose you don't see phishing/prank calls or having someone staring into your home being a problem because everyone has phones and windows. *shrug*

I think the blowback BK received will be enough to dissuade others from trying it in the future and that's good for everyone!
