Bethesda is having a sale on Steam as nearly everything in the publisher's entire catalog is discounted as a lead-in to Quakecon. Of course Quakecon is a legendary PC gaming event as gamers compete to win prizes in a LAN party atmosphere. For those of us that can't attend, there is the before mentioned Steam and Bethesda.net sales on the titles featured at the event and a scheduled livestream on August 9 -12th. Don't miss the Doom Eternal reveal slated for this year!

Presenting the QuakeCon 2018 Battle of the BYOC

If you enjoy the esports scene but just haven't decided to try your hand at the big leagues then this might be the perfect opportunity. Created with our BYOC fans and attendees in mind, this series of tournaments is going to help us find out who the champions of the QuakeCon 2018 BYOC really are! Four tournaments across four days featuring three games, there's sure to be some exciting show downs.

Nice.

I'll have to check this out.

On a related tangent though, it seems Fallout 76 will not be put on Steam, which is a bummer.

I guess this means I'll have to pass on Fallout 76.

I refuse to have more than one game store / library on my computer.

If it's not on Steam, I will never buy it (unless it is standalone and DRM/Client free.

Not a huge loss I guess. I don't really have time for multiplayer games any more. I more or less exclusively play story based single player first person games these days.

Yea I was bummed about the steam thing too. I mean I understand why they want to cut out the retailer, but why do they sell it direct for the same price as retail prices? Most other industries are not tolerant to that.

How can I take advantage of the sale when I already own all of Bethesda's titles? First-world problems .

God, I hope Doom Eternal won't be a Bethesda.net exclusive like Fallout 76...

The Doom Eternal reveal is this Friday at 12:00 EDT (UTC -4). It will be livestreamed on their Twitch channel.

Awesome! I can't wait for more reasons to use Creation Club™ Credits. I'd better stock up on Creation Club™ Credits before they're all gone.

I have a gift card for steam with $25 left on it..... skyrim VR.. is on sale for $41.... id say its worth $16 bucks... based on the reviews and some mods... sounds like im re-installing skyrim again!.. for the up-teenth time lol

Who needs Skyrim when you have Fallout New Vegas?

I often use this to grab bundle deals. I just wish we still had the [H]|Workshop. Most memorable moment was when the Phantom was slammed by the [H]ammer

I still can't get used to reading bethesda in relation to quakecon. Despite it being close to 10 years.

Gotta make some of that money back from the nearly 1200 seats they still have available. :p

That's pretty limiting. It pretty much excludes you from playing anything new from Blizzard, EA (not much of a loss), Ubisoft, EPIC Games, or Microsoft.

I like Steam well enough, but refusing to use any other service is sort of like saying you won't watch a shows or movie that isn't on Netflix.

Thus far it's been easy. Nothing had been launched that I have had any interest in that hasn't been on Steam.

I'd imagine at some point something will be released and there will be more of a temptatipn, but it just hasn't happened yet.

Even so, I don't know of I could bring myself to install another client from anyone else on my desktop. I hate having superfluous shit on my machine.

I might pick up Vegas later... but a ton of reviews on steam basically say that Skyrim VR is a better port to VR than vegas. Plus, i liked skyrim better than vegas. Will probably pick it up on sale one of these days but skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time.
