Here's what I'd like know. What do you if you're in line and you have to take a leak? If the answer is "you don't want to know," then that's all you have to say.
Lol, a very practical question and one of the reasons I never stood in one, ever, even when it may have been worth it.

At my store people were using a gas station across the street. You'd leave the line for a few minutes, then come back. You weren't kicked out of your spot or anything.

This event is plastered over every mining forum from Cleveland to Timbuktu with syndicates paying groups of people to wait in line. Apparently, the list is already is being sold for which stores are getting cards. Better get there early.

We would just walk around to the back of the building and there's a little wooded area and also there's some dumpsters back there so nobody can see you pee. I had to go twice in the time I was there. Really I spent half the night in my car trying to get to sleep but I never could. Basically your spot in line was your spot no matter what as people would go back to their cars or maybe go get something to eat and it was no big deal.

To late, the good ones are long gone.

I'm with the other guys who have productive lives and responsibilities and all that, and don't want to wait in line all night. And I'm with the geezers of any age who don't want to sleep in their cars.

Oh sorry I didn't realize every person there including myself does not have any responsibilities or a productive life. I guess all those health care workers engineers and people from numerous other career fields were just figments of my imagination. And clearly all those people didn't really have families and must have just been lying.

Your about 2 days late hehe.
Ah, I keep seeing frenetic posts about this event from the few mining feeds I subscribe to, thought it was impending. Hope people who were there to genuinely to use the cards, ideally for gaming, got theirs.

Damn, who has time to do this. I'm actually jealous.

Last time some stores had left over cards they sold to walk-ins. It seems like supply was lower, and turnout was higher, this time.

3060 Ti listings topped at 80 today, last time they hit over 150. Prices have already climbed from $900 back up to $1100. And it's only been about 6 hours.

Starting to feel a little bit sick to my stomach knowing I paid $1,640 for the 3090. I don't even think I'm going to open it and I'll just go ahead and throw it on eBay tonight. I really want the 3080 and Best Buy is likely to do this again in a few weeks so I'll make sure I get there a little bit earlier next time.

Still not possilbe to buy a 3090 here for non scalper prices.

The card is becoming too old to be worth the money and I am giving up on ever acquiring one from this generation, will wait until next year's card comes out.

3090's are the last to go at Best Buy stores, you can literally show up as they're handing out tickets and get one. Assuming your store doesn't have an overflow crowd.

Well, atleast that is somewhat close to MSRP. Imagine the poor sacks that payed 2500+ for it LOL.

That was not the case at all this morning at my location. Once they ran out of 3080s it was actually the 3090 that was the next to be sold out. Now last month when they did this there was a lot less people and they did end up having some 3090s left over.

No that was the price with tax so it was exactly MSRP. The founders edition cards are not marked up at all at Best Buy.

My offer for a new, unopened EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming card + cash is still on the table... hint hint :D

Yeah I know. Then why are you feeling down? You got a flagship card at MSRP! I wish I was in your shoes, but like I said, I ain't standing in line for one. Congrats.

I guess in my mind there's just more to it. For one thing the 3090 has been out for almost a year now. Heck there is already rumored today from an extremely reliable leaker that there's going to be a 3090 super released this year. Over $1,600 for a video card even at launch where you get the most value out of it in the long term it's still a chunk of money. With the 3080 at least I know I can get full use out of that card and it's just so much cheaper so if I end up keeping it for a while and prices go back closer to normal I'm not going to lose very much money whereas with the 3090 I'm just going to be a nervous wreck the whole time I own it wondering when a good time to get rid of it would be. And the performance difference between the 3080 and the 3090 is so small. That said I do understand that it must be really painful for those that paid nearly 3090 prices for just a 3080.

I can understand the buyers remorse. Was the journey greater than the reward? There's always something thats going to be on the horizon. Stop trying to keep up with the Jones'. You should be able to get 4 or 5 years out of that 3090, & you probably won't make even half your money back when you decide to sell it if you keep it that long. But hey, atleast you got one and can enjoy it. That's more than I can say. I've been on the EVGA que for over 6 months & Ive made peace with not being able to walk to the local store and pick one up off the shelf at MSRP.

Even though I had the money to by a 3090, I decided against it and didn't go to the stores. To pay $1500 this late in the game for the top card means less ROI.
Titan etc must be purchased around launch to get the most out of them. Now Nvidia today is readying the 3090 Super. Crazy.

Was strongly thinking of picking up a 3090 fe from another place for around 1800, the news of the super made me ditch that idea for now. When does the evga queue for the 3090 S FTW3 begin? :)

The 3090s were the 2nd to last to sell out in my queue. The 3080ti's were dead last. The last 9-10 people before the cutoff only had one choice but they all took it. Probably because there was another 150 or so people behind them.

Wow yet again they had cards left over so me and a few other people went ahead and got a second card. So I got a Founders 3080 TI and an MSI 3060. And this was the first time they had some nonfounders edition cards. I'm either going to put that 3060 in a build or just put it on the Facebook marketplace for a very small profit. I'm not interested in trying to really rip anybody off too bad that's looking at that level of card and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than they can get it on eBay for. Still though I mean I have to at least justify all those hours standing in line...

And in a nutshell this post shows us just how FU the market is now.
I saw this post and managed to get a $439.99 AMD 6600XT online for shipping at BB. It was still in stock because demand is lower on AMD. But for a card between a 3060 and 3060 Ti in regular non-ray tracing performance its an OK price

Sad to say but that is a good deal in the current market, I spent more than that on a 3060 not long ago.
