So I was watching a video on the tank destroyers and they said that the destroyers have the same armor as the MBT's? That doesn't seem right to me. Shouldn't the MBT's be more like a heavy tank and the TD's be the medium? They each have their own advantages.

MBT ---> Armor
TD ---> Speed

I think the "tank destroyers" have less armor but slightly more speed.

Speaking of tank destroyers lately I am digging tank superiority a lot. At the beginning I thought it was meh, but I am liking it now.

So just pulled off a huge flank with a silenced sniper rifle while playing defense on Grand Bazaar rush (final set of MCOMS are up, I'm in the back of the market) and my PC crashes just as I go prone and begin to pick targets. Sonof@(*! :(

Is it just me, or do sniper rifle rounds not land right on the reticle? I'm not talking about bullet drop, but just in general, I'll have my crosshair right on an enemies head and it will miss even though it looks like the tracer practically goes through his face, just missing left or right. Is there spread even when ADS with scopes? Sniping is hard enough in this game without extra variables thrown in.

For anyone who wants to tell me to STFU and play a real class, I almost never play sniper but I'm trying to service star all weapons. I actually don't find sniping very fun and really only ever played recon before to star my PDW's and Shotguns.

High powered scopes have sway. Hold shift to hold breath. Stand still while firing for the best accuracy. Non bolt action sniper rifles are less accurate.

Indeed. Usually, if I am trying a rifle for the first time (or the first time in a while), I'll shoot a few rounds to get an idea of the spread. Then I'll compensate accordingly.

Yeah, I'm aware of the sway and holding breath. I'm saying that even with my breath held, or on a bipod, I will have the crosshairs perfectly on an enemies head, and it looks like it hits them (i.e. the tracer goes through the face portion of the model, or at least appears to) but it doesn't register a hit. I'm wondering if the bolt actions with breath held, standing still, have any horizontal spread, even if minute, that could result in a miss.

I played some more today and stayed just a bit closer range so it would be easier and I aimed more towards center mass (chin/neck area) and did much better. What I'm talking about above was taking place at distances where even with the 12x scope, the head was 50%+ obscured by the vertical line on the crosshair. I'm not sure exactly how many meters, but at least 300+ I would guess.

It seems the best way to get good at BF3 is to play a lot of CS:GO. I took a fairly long break from BF3, but I've never played better than I have in the last few days.

The problem I have as a sniper is vehicle based combat. I don't carry explosive weaponry with me, and when everyone gets in a tank... D:

Aftermath video is out on You Tube. Can't link since I am at work. Could someone post please?

Also, there is an article about Aftermath on MP1st.com. Very interesting.

An epic battlefield with intense action where every instant counts. Now with single shot, manual reloading crossbows. Less range and less damage than any modern fire-arm, but they sure are cool!

From MP1st.com...

Scavenger is a heavily-themed new game mode that revolves around the story that Aftermath tells. As a soldier that has just survived a devastating earthquake in the middle of a heated battle, you’re left with nothing but your pistol and a limited amount ammo. However, just because an earthquake may have knocked you and a number of other soldiers off their feet, it doesn’t mean all those weapons have disappeared. They simply need to be found again.

Upon starting up a match, you’ll only have your choice of class (which, in this case, only dictates your skin or look) and your choice of sidearm and specialization along with one grenade. On top of your assigned task of capturing three objective points (exactly similar to Conquest Domination introduced in Close Quarters), you’ll need to search every corner of the area to find yourself some better gear. Scattered among the battlefield are three different tiers of randomized weapons. Tier one includes your basic SMG’s or PDW’s while tier two sports your more powerful shotguns and sniper rifles. Lastly, the third tier grants you your more effective LMG’s and assault rifles. However, don’t get too comfortable with your M16A3, should you find one. Chances are, you may blow through one or two mags before you’ll need to find some more firepower. This provides an interesting, non-class-based twist on your action-packed Conquest Domination (similar map sizes can be expected) and adds a whole new layer of gameplay.

Interesting. As long as the weapon/ammo caches are randomly placed. That could be fun.

But crossbows? lol ok

Probably just the shitty hit registration in BF3. Partly why I gave up; last I played it reminded me of that controversy in CS:S when the hitboxes were all out of whack. If it was consistent it would be fine because you could learn how to compensate, but it seems to vary a lot from server to server.

A simple crossbow isn't enough. I want a crossbow-mounted crossbow with an under-barrel crossbow, so I can have maximum tacticools.

Hope they release some high quality renders of the new models, they look really cool and would love to see them in more detail.
