Is worth a buy Battlefield 2042? I have only Battlefield 5,Crysis 2 and Anthem on origin.
From what i played, the prospect of paying $70 to get an enema with a cactus would be far more enticing.

So how many are still gonna buy this free to play game masquerading as a triple a game? I think I'd personally rather wipe my ass with the money then set fire to it than give it to ea for this half assed bare bones effort.
I still have my pre order at cdkeys, I've got 7 days after release to get a refund as long as I dont use the key. I'll probably just wait for reviews or buy the ea play $5 thing to play 10 hours.

I'll probably wait for a sale, I guess I'll see what else I'm playing at the moment when it launches and what the general impressions are at release.

I have it pre-ordered and intend on keeping it. I found the beta imperfect but enjoyable. I find MP shooters less appealing if I don't get in on them early. SP games I almost always wait for a sale.

Going to wait and see wait the launch looks like. I am trying to reserve judgement since the beta was supposedly an old build, but I am not thrilled about some of the gameplay systems and those won't change.

I do wonder why they chose to release a supposedly 2 month old beta instead of whatever new stuff they had? Their newer versions must have had some performance/stability issues

Probably started building the game slice on an even much older build than what they released. It takes time to make a beta or demo since you can't just comment out code in your release build to make one.

Because it's not just one group of guys working on the game as a whole. They have different teams working on different aspects. At a certain point in development they have to say "ok, this is the build we will use for the beta" freeze that build and continue working/developing

It‘s called promotion. It’s also a tease to get people talking. Seems like it worked.

Yeah, talking negative for the most part, just about any forum i look at it's more negative than positive.

Guys hear me out.. if you want a chill Battlefield fix, to relax and actually *enjoy*, check out Ravenfield! I have not had this much fun in a video game in years!! It is a solo BF-like game. Just pretend it's multiplayer and it's so fun :) There is actually a MP mod by looking at the forums real quick but I haven't tried it yet.
Here is what to expect: A YT player. It looks like BF Roblox Edition but it is so chill and fun!!
Think about giving this a try to unwind and carry you over till 2042

it’s a handful of people crying over and over again while the rest are enjoying the game. That’s usually (always) how it works. This thread is a good example of that.

Is it? That also goes for the multitude of youtube vids saying the same thing? Their offical forum has also been slammed with complaints as well.

This is how you win. Doing the same tonight. Anyone commenting in this thread -- positive or negative - is going to be playing at launch no matter what, who you kidding? Even if its the $5 for 10hrs Origin Live trial. We'll all be playing it, bugs and all.

Because you see Battlefield is the abusive relationship that keeps on giving, the one you can reliably count on. And that is worth every pre-order cent.

Article claims that there is a lot going on behind the scenes, including an identity crisis with many of the project leads wanting to turn the game into a Call of Duty clone.

Had a bad feeling about it when I posted this back in June:

Would make sense considering the infantry speed, the specilaists which are the cod equivilant of operators etc. They're still pissed they shit the bed with bfv and the pr disaster from that which cost them sales so theyre trying anything to make the game more "cod like" in hopes of snatching some of their sales.

You can tell who actually pre-ordered.
EA has abused the community but they are still hoping for the best.
See the problem is you and Chris_B are myopic, you think its about justifying a purchase because you hate the product. Pro-tip, not everyone hates it, or has such basic linear reasoning.

I have an age old BF group of about 30 going back to BF2142, we've played every BF together since for the life time of that BF game. we will have our little block of 30 people (even easier now with cross play) and play the ever loving shit out of this, daily till at least the new year, then weekly till the end of life.

My nit-picks with the game don't matter, I'm in for the ultimate edition because I'll be around to play it all.

Congrats, not everone hates it, by the same token a hell of a lot of people do. Mainly because its been substantially stripped back and dumbed down from previous battlefield games. I don't really care one way or the other who buys it, not like my opinion of the game is gonna change anyones mind, everyone makes up their own mind in that regard, or they go to review sites and have their mind made up for them. If you want to buy it, knock yourself out, not gonna change my opinion that it's a dumbed down piece of shit that is likely repurposed using elements from the failure that was Firestorm. :)

I also had it pre-ordered to get early acess just to see what ea and dice were peddling as the new battlefield game this time around, needless to say that order is nomore. I gave it a chance and felt like i was time warped back 15 years with how stripped back it was, classes gone, destruction minimal, vehicle subsystem damage gone, vehicle controls pathetic, infantry movement moronic. A hard pass.

Oof, Gamingintel.. clickbait so blatant it makes DSOG seem legit. While all of that may be 100% true, Tom Henderson seems to have pivoted to just being a troll. It reads less like an article, and more like a reddit rant by some ADHD kid - full of assumptions and bias/opinions. And his alleged "insider at DICE" comes across like a disgruntled employee rather than someone that actually knows anything or has an interest in the game succeeding.

FWIW, people have been screaming "they're trying to turn Battlefield into COD!" every new BF game for the past 11+ years.

Imagine turning Master Chief into a regular grunt/solider, like how DICE turned soldiers into common civilians playing dress up. Would it still be viewed as a Halo game?
The majority of the community agrees that 2042 isn't a traditional BF game and EA is going to force a new BF experience moving forward.

Portal is for those of us that dislike 2042 and they threw us hardcore BF players a bone.

Can anyone playing the beta confirm it will run on DX11 plz?

Reason I ask is I'm still rolling a pair of 1080ti's in SLI due to video card shortages and gouging we are all aware of using DX11.

I can probably do the same in 2042 if it supports it.

thx in advance.
