If anyone could help point something out to me that would be great. Ok, so I wanted to overclock this 2200+ the other day and when I went into the BIOS the multiplier was unlocked and at 13.5 (133MHz FSB) so I was pulling about 1795MHz. So, I decided too see if this thing would OC as I had never OC-ed this chip before, I then raised the multiplier to 15 to see if I could pull off almost 2GHz. (I'm using a Shuttle AN35N-Ultra if this helps anyone out, it has the nForce 2 Ultra + MCP chipset). So, I restarted and went into WCPUID to see that even though I raised the multiplier in the BIOS it didn't overclock and showed that my multiplier was still at 13.5. Does this mean my CPU is locked, if so can I unlock it with one of those unlocking kits you can purchase a frozencpu.com? Thanks in advance.
P.S.- I'm using the stock heatsink that came with the retail CPU box, also I know this is a no no but I'm using the crappy thermal pad that was attatched to the heatsink when I got it.

if you changed the mult in bios and nothing happened, most likely your cpu's multi is locked. Howerver, i'm not sure but some chips may not like the high multi. You could always try lowering it and upping the FSB. Something easy like 10*200

Something didn't like the 10*200 I even tried 9.5 to be on the safe side. Wouldn't boot, had to pull the BIOS battery.

Alright I've got it upto 1962MHz from bumping the FSB to 145MHz it's at 34C idle, I put it back on the stock core voltage which is 1.6v. Can anyone give me the info on one of those unlocking kits at FrozenCPU? I really wanna unlock the multipier. :D

IMHO i dont think those kits work at all. Why did you stop upping the FSB? :D

I got it to almost 2GHz flat, tor some reason if I put the FSB above 148MHz it boots to the windows screen and just freezes there. I never get to my login screen it's just black. When I up my FSB should I just leave my RAM at DDR400? or take it up along with the FSB?
