The 4070ti seems more my style plus I game at 1080P at 144hz. Also like the fact I can use my 750 watt PSU with the card with no problems
so I won't have to upgrade to something like 1000 Watt PSU with the other 4000 series cards basically require I mean I have two Back up 750 watt PSUs would hate to think it's obsolete because of the lower wattage. I mean I ran a 450 watt for like a decade the increase power consumption is just silly it's suppose to be going down not up.

If it slots in at the rumored $900 MSRP, hell no - I already made my move with the RX 7900 XTX, and was seriously contemplating used 3090s if I could've found one at the right price.

For 1080p gaming, it's more than overkill, and even a used 3080 would be quite sufficient. For VR gaming, it's not enough in the more demanding (read: unoptimized) titles - a 4080 is more entry-level there, and you really want the 4090 just because nothing's faster at the moment.

I'm coming from a 3070 so it would've been a upgrade. Looking for or Suprim since there are three options for that sku.

My opinion, should just be $599 to $649 range. They may release this at "original" $899 or perhaps $799, if we are lucky. ;)

750 watt PSU
I am not sure how much it is an issue with the 4080-4090, they tend to use 3070TI energy level I would imagine at 1080p-144hz, but depending on what you do could be "too much"...

Would wait for review, but why the 4070ti over say the current 6900xt offer-7900xt, lot of value on greater efficacy ?

4090 is a 1000 watt PSU card 4080 you can get by with a 850 but read something about 100 watt power spikes which had me worried

power spike seem way better on the Lovelace than the previous generation cards:

Would you have been ok with a 3070Ti say, a 4080 should not be an issue, they would possibly have an hard time to max out at 1080p relatively low FPS limit of 144, maybe you would rarely go over 250watts.

If you have a 13900K obviously, but if you are on a 5800x3d, one could make sure before but I am not sure they are power hungry.

Maybe Nvidia will shift the prices down for the 4080 and below. $999 or $899 for the 4080 and $599 or $649 for the 4070Ti.

According to pcpartpicker, cheapest 3070TI are above $750, above $640 seem the norm for a 3070, I do not see Nvidia current price of new Lovelace under older Ampere, they tend to make them creep up, it is almost certain it will be significantly above $750

The price of a SKU will be what the market can bear, not what some people feel is right.
If a price is to high a SKU will not sell enough and the price will be adjusted.
But buy higher prices per transistor for newer nodes I suspect we will have to get use to higher and higher prices.
Just like Intel and the dream of 10 GHz "NetBurst" CPU's early in the 2000's we all have to realize:
No one escapes physics/reality.

The cost in the future will only go one way.

Exactly people FEEL like 799.00 gimme a break you want fair market value on a GPU that won't harm your feelings after you buy it?
My biggest fear is the scalpers are going to buy this card up just because it's cheaper.
Would I like a 4080 sure I would but after putting it in cart it came to 1,460.00 now that hard to stomach.

Bingo, if the price is low enough at launch scalpers will swoop in and scew the prices anyway.

If the $899.99 MSRP is true, then used 3090's are going to be cheaper with 2x the VRAM and 2x the memory bandwidth (for games that like memory bandwidth).

I don't know why anyone would buy a 4070 Ti unless the MSRP is closer to $599.99.

PC gaming is going suffer because of the cost. Kind of sucks, way too gentrified now. It's the San Francisco of gaming.

I ran a 3090 on a 750W SFX PSU.
Now I run a 4080 on the same PSU.

I ran a 3090 EVGA XC3 on an EVGA 650 G+ for over a year. I had it as a spare, and threw it in the system to do testing and never took it out. Under gaming load, according to my UPS, I never saw total system draw, from the wall, exceed 450w, so I figured I was ok.

Have a 1080 purchased mid-2016 when I built my current system, really debating the upgrade. But it is unreasonably expensive, the whole 4xxx series is.

The performance boost would be nice, and I'm pretty sure my old AX860i PSU could still handle it, but the 5xxx series is just two more years away. Think I'm gonna try to stretch it out.

I went from a 5700 XT to a 3060 Ti, sold that for what I paid for it and got a 6800 XT. I'm assuming even the 5700 XT is faster than a 1080, going from that to a 6800 XT or a 3080 will be a bonkers upgrade.

It doesnt need to suffer, just get an 6600 / 6650 for like $279. No one needs a 4070ti for $900 They will lower their prices eventually if people stop buying over priced cards.

Reports are the MSRP may be $799 for the 4070 Ti. Still too expensive, but at least that will put downwards pressure on all the other 4xxx series cards below it.

With a $400 price gap between it and the 4080 I guarantee you will see models approaching $900 if not exceed it.

Nvidia stated that the 4080 12GB was AIB only. Cards were already being made by AIBs, so I don't think Nvidia decided to make FE cards in two months.
MSRP may be $799 for some cards at launch but AIBs will set the price between $800-1000 i.e. STRIX.

Yeah I think this was nothing more than a planned scam from the beginning. They knew there was a good chance that everyone would give them crap about a 4080 12 gig for $899 so they sure as hell didn't make any founders editions and essentially just screwed over all their partners that had already made cards and boxes before canceling it. If so many people would not have complained then they knew they would make a whole lot of money and then if people did complain they would simply change the name and and try to capitalize on acting like they care about the customer. I think we will be lucky to see any cards at $799.

Don't buy a card branded with "70" and the third tier down die in the consumer stack for this gen legitimacy at $800-$1000. This is why the market continues to get worse. This should rot on shelves just like 4080's were.

Yep...

If the FE isn't made or with low quantities, a MSRP doesn't exist.
That's why I went and bought a 4080 FE because once people see that they are paying $900-1000 for sub 3090Ti performance, when they can buy one used for less and more RAM, the 4080s will begin to sell out.

People are only holding out on the 4080s because they think the market will correct itself. It will not. AIB's need Nvidia to throw them a bone this gen and FE cards will only trickle out to help them. Even if the 4080 price is cut, the FE models will disappear for a while, just like the 4090 FE has done.

That began with the GTX 680. It was so fast and efficient, Nvidia decided to make a Titan card with the full die the generation after that.
The *70 die move up to *80 card and the *80 die moved up to Titan/*90. The RTX 3080 was seen as a mistake in pricing and the 3090/3080Ti was a price correction that lead into the 4000 series.

I have no interest in the 4070 variety. I almost considered a 4080, but then decided to skip this gen of cards.

May my current Nvidia 3000 series cards last as long as my 1000 series continue to serve.
