AMD to Skip a Radeon RX 7700 Series Launch For Now, Prioritize RX 7600 Series

This should be a $200 card and the fact it isn't is the continuation of the fuckery we have endured for the past 5 years and this blows the fattest of donkey cock.
If the 6700 stocks are not sold out then the 7600 has to be cheaper, $270 or less.
If the 6700 is sold out then 7600 might launch at $280-$300

The cheapest Radeon RX 6800 has dropped to $479, while the GeForce RTX 3070 now starts at $456, making them direct rivals.
While Nvidia has now launched the GeForce RTX 4070 to replace the GeForce RTX 3070, AMD hasn't released a successor to the Radeon RX 6800. The GeForce RTX 4070 also enters the market at $599, 20% higher than its predecessor's MSRP while offering GeForce RTX 3080-level performance at lower power requirements.
AMD tested the two graphics cards at a native 1440p (2560x1440) resolution. However, the chipmaker didn't clarify which graphics settings it had used for the tests, which is an important piece of data. Nevertheless, AMD's claims generally align with our own results so there doesn't seem to be any funny business going on.

Not really they are just going to try to shine the best light they can on their products. Only card they can't match or beat is the 4090. Bigger issue is just the price of video cards these days. People continue to wait for the good deal that both companies refuse to give, which is leaving a window of opportunity for Intel if they decide to continue in the market.

Or they're really desperately trying to sell old product that they no longer want sitting on shelves or in warehouses, and the best way to do that is to continue to hype it up otherwise you have a waiting game of "well the new one will be out soon..."

well if you haven't noticed manufactures care fuckall to what you would rather have and would rather make decisions like this complicated and lets be honest only like one of those cards is selling for MSRP as demanded by their green overlords and once that 2 month requirement window closes that model disappears super fast and you get all the other ones that pop onto the scene.
I am not sure disappears is the right word, as they don't even move below MSRP, slowly rot in the corner seems more appropriate

Navi 32 is MIA and the previous gen holdovers are getting stale
AMD published a blog yesterday highlighting the importance of having sufficient VRAM for 1440p gaming. The short summary is that it suggests you need 12GB or 16GB to get the most out of 1440p gaming.
It's an interesting take, because we still don't have AMD RDNA 3 architecture GPUs with 12GB or 16GB of VRAM. We're specifically talking about the Navi 32-based parts, the RX 7800 (XT) and RX 7700 (XT), which at this point are long overdue

When will AMD finally launch these Navi 32-based GPUs? There are hints it could happen in the July–August timeframe, just in time for the back-to-school season. AMD and its partners would also like to clear out as much of the RX 6800/6700/6600-series inventory as possible in the meantime. Articles highlighting the importance of 12GB VRAM for 1440p gaming may help in that endeavor, but for cards that are now past their two years old mark, it's becoming an increasingly tough sell. Maybe we'll get some great Prime Day deals on the RX 6800/6700 series to help move things along.
The current prices on RX 6000-series GPUs are good, but they've gone back up over the past month or so (since the launch of the RX 7600, RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti). Except Fathers' Day deals are also a thing, and right now, RX 6950 XT starts at $579, RX 6800 XT starts at $469, and RX 6800 starts at $459. (The RX 6800 XT is the best value out of those, if you're wondering.)
Meanwhile, the RX 6750 XT starts at $359, the fractionally slower RX 6700 XT goes for $309, and the RX 6700 10GB costs $279. If you want an AMD card with 10GB or more VRAM, those are your only options outside of the significantly more expensive (and faster) $779 RX 7900 XT and $959 RX 7900 XTX.

I own an RX 5700 XT, so slightly more than a RX 6600, but less than a RX 6600 XT. Much better than an Nvidia 3060, but less than a 3060Ti. Doesn't matter at all. Why? Because you can't buy the RX 5700 XT new. So, it's not a discussion point anymore. It will never be included in benchmarks, even though lesser cards like the Nvidia 3060 will be.
Why am I saying this?
Because what is available does matter. IMHO, as long as the 6000 cards are still easy to obtain new, anything from AMD 7000 wise will automatically have to be compared to that. We know how well this has gone for Nvidia, but there is a small victory for AMD in not having the RX 5700 XT (due to availability) not be on the charts at all.
People will buy what is available. And the pundits will only highlight cards that can be purchased today that are new in box.
Best thing that could happen to AMD is for the 6000 series availability to dwindle (go away). Then, when it comes to "what's available", 7000 series is what is available, so it's the only thing shown in benchmark comparisons and becomes the only AMD choice. To release the low-mid end cards, now... means that AMD is going head to head with .... AMD. And just like Nividia, it could become a curse.
Hindsight is always 20/20 and banking on the "crypto craze" arguably cause these supply issues where vendors are forced to be their own competition.
Time will tell, and perhaps the entire 6000 series has already been written off the books AMD wise (so they get zero for sales). But right now, AMD holding back... it's not necessarily a bad strategy. They've got what they are doing CPU and APU wise to hold interest (press coverage). Nvidia has press, but a lot of it is negative. Is that better than nothing? Some would say yes.

Too many 6800xt and 6950xt cards still available and the rumors suggest that the 7800xt will be faster than the 6800xt by some amount but maybe along the lines of the 6950xt. So it will have 16gb vram, av1 and efficiency gains but performs around last gen flagship card. BUT AMD will most likely want to charge more money than the blowout 6950xt prices. They are in a bind so they are delaying.

Just to set normal AMD expectations: It is 2.5x the performance of 4070Ti while running at a cool 4C, with a passive heat sink and can handle up to 8 x 8k monitors (but limited to 144hz). There is an actively cooled version, if you need a low profile single slot variant.
Doubles as one of those scalp massagers too, but unlike the cheap wire ones this one uses targeted ultra sonic vibrations so it feels like the first time every time.

Well joking aside the timeframe tracks.
Sept launch with early Oct availability get you those holiday sales numbers availability on the 6700 and 6800 parts is still decent but they are looking old, and with how lackluster the 4060 and 4060ti are that would be the time to step up. Because nobody is looking at the 4060 and 4060ti as their first choice.

Sort of agree, it weren't for the fact that the 6xxx series is still available. Would actually help AMD if that supply dried up somehow.
