Reuters is reporting that if you have an Amazon Prime subscription, you will now be able to utilize it at Whole Foods for discounts. All you have to do is download the Whole Foods Market App, then use that to grab an extra 10% on special items that are only overpriced by 50%. Sadly this excludes alcohol, which means mothers across the US will be disappointed. As for available locations, this is available only in Florida currently, or everywhere except Florida according to their map. In all seriousness, it is rolling out to stores nationwide this summer.


On Wednesday, Whole Foods debuted a much-anticipated loyalty program that offers special discounts to Prime customers, including 10 percent off hundreds of sale items and rotating weekly specials such as $10 per pound off wild-caught halibut steaks. Prime members scan an app or input their phone numbers at checkout to receive the discounts.
 
Whole Foods is good for finding a few things you cannot get at any other supermarkets. But as you say, have to shop carefully. I like grabbing a slice of pizza while daughter or wife shops. I hate to shop. I'm going to grab the app, what the hell!
 
I keep trying to find a difference in taste between Whole Foods food and Publix... but I can't.

My sister wastes a lot of money there though...

there was one i would stop at by an old job because the bakery had a great selection of mini deserts. Then i would walk through the store and just stare.. Needed pasta once .. that was fun.
 
I like Trader Joe's, but they haven't grown/expanded. It's a long drive for us.
 
Trader Joe's around me has terrible produce. Half of it's rotten by the time I get back to my apartment. As for Whole Foods, I do shop there for produce (as Stop and Shop isn't exactly that much better than Trader Joe's when it comes to produce) and bakery goods. The nice thing about their bakery is most of it's outsourced from local shops, where I know the stuff were made from scratch, rather than being some frozen product from Minnesota that was just thawed and put in an oven to be called freshly baked.

Ouch. I haven't been to Trader Joe's in years because of how far away it is. Hate to hear it has gone to shit. I like "The Fresh Market" and "Whole Foods" the best for organic stuff.

Must be a one off- there's two Trader Joe's near me and they're pretty fantastic. Fresh produce, well priced, good customer service.

We do go to Whole Foods, Central Market, or Sprouts occasionally though.
 
When I need organic or free range I go out in the back yard and get it.

I had no idea they had Gluten free water. Is it also fat free or at least low fat? A person could get healthy in that place. Do they have stress free lottery tickets guaranteed to lose, so you don't have to worry about it. I knew their Pharmacy dept only sells Placebos to eliminates all those nasty "suicidal thoughts" side effects.

I really dig the local 'The Fresh Market' for produce and meats. We usually stop at our neighborhood Ingles Supermarket (smallish regional chain based here in the Asheville,NC area).

Ingles use to be a dump, but now they are decent! Shop there often here in Greenville, SC Area. Walmart is still a chinese market, but they have the Fairlife Skim Milk cheaper than anyone, by a long shot. 2.98 a bottle verses 3.49 at Target and 3.98 at Ingles.
 
I was visiting San Jose a few years ago - we hit Whole Foods for breakfast. They had a good selection of hot breakfast foods for an OK price. I don't live too close to one right now so never shop there.
 
For those of us with Celiac Disease Whole Foods is a godsend. Its one of a few or the sole source for many Celiac safe items. Any relief from the "Celiac Tax" (Higher prices for certified gluten free foods) is a GOOD thing! Hope it rolls out across the country soon and they include gluten free products in it.

I'm not sure about that brand of milk, but a majority of milk in our area (which would probably include Greenville) is processed by Ingles' owned Milkco...and like you said, it is generally cheaper at other than Ingles stores.

I was in Greenville several times per week for most of the decades of the 2000s. I supplied electrical and plumbing stuffs to thousands of housing units and several schools. I'd like to have a dollar now for every time I was on Pelham.

Just be glad you avoid Woodruff Road. Why in the hell anyone would want to hit that road it beyond me. Check out Fairlife Milk. It's ultra-filtered, barely any sugar, and has over 30 day shelf life, it doesn't spoil in a week like regular milk. Taste is so pure.
 
I'm just going to say it..Wegmans makes Wholefoods and publix seem crappy. Better range and quality of products and manages to be cheaper than both of them.
 
With some of the discounts now, WF organics is the same price as non-organic offerings at the local supermarkets by me
