Pair it with $10 off $60+ using Google Checkout (Exp 12/17)

Aeropostale is hit-or-miss with clothing. I wouldn't get anything branded with the name, but when I find something decent, I always have to check for stitching quality and proportions. Sometimes the side seems will drift towards the front, or a sleeve will be longer than the other. Because of all that, I think it's important to shop in the store to physically inspect what item you are buying.

They do have good deals though. I went out there on Black Friday and got a $10 off every purchase card ...good till Christmas. I might go back or let people use it.

all of these county seat/old navy/aeropostale stores have terrible clothes. They tear up after washing only a handful of times... i guess you get what you pay for. 50% off probably isn't that bad, but if you pay 45 dollars for a hoodie from these places, you are getting ripped off IMO. People question why you spend 250 dollars on a pair of jeans... well, when they last 5x longer than your 40 dollar mall crap... it starts to make sense all the sudden. Stitching quality is almost always poor, they are made to be cheap, not to last.

:(

I've had no problems with Old Navy clothes. I have several shirts, a thin zip-up hoodie, boxer-briefs, a couple pairs of pants, a couple pairs of shorts, and maybe some other stuff. Can't say I own any Aeropostale. Old Navy's about as preppy as I'll go. :D

Anyone bashing Old Navy obviously have never owned any of their clothing. Honest to god it lasts longer than it should - as I still have T-shirts from 2002 surviving to this day. I have a ton of Old Navy stuff that should be burned, because it has failed to fall apart on me.

Aeropostale should be fine so long as you don't wash it with bleach and abuse them. You get what you pay for at full price, that is - someone decent looking clothing, but not "time-and-effort" made quality.

QFT.
Pretty much all of my clothes are Old Navy (because I'm a cheap bastard), and aside from my work jeans which I wear 10-15x more often than other pants/shirts, everything lasts pretty much forever.

+1 on Old Navy stuff lasting pretty long. I can attest to that.

But Aeropostale stuff doesn't last long at all. (at least their new stuff) I shopped there the first few months the store chain opened, but it went all downhill from there. Their original stuff from the 90's lasted and I actually still have a couple articles of clothing from there.

Agreed on Old Navy clothes lasting a long time. I have a pair of Old Navy jeans that have probably been washed 100+ times...and they are still in great shape!

Is this good for in-store as well? I figure it is, but I'd rather make sure before my girlfriend wants to head over.

Fuck paying more than $20-$30 on a pair of jeans. "Mall jeans" are too expensive for me.

Kohls - $17 pair of jeans - Purchased in high school 6 years ago - Still wearing them.

My sweat shop jeans are better than yours.

whatever suits you

No pun intended? ;)

I like Kohl's and Target, but I only browse the clearance racks. Gotten some pretty sweet deals. Plus there's always the thrift store. I can't attest to Aeropostale clothes being shoddy, but if you're into them, you can't really beat 50% off.

I prefer AE for my preppy clothing needs. I only buy Aeropostale when it's insanely cheap.

Is this deal in their stores also?

$40 dollar jeans
x 5 (times longer)
------------------------
$200

What this means is...even though 250 jeans *may* last longer you still over paid....

in fact...For 250 bucks I could buy 6 pairs of $40 jeans...with 10 bucks to spare....not to mention if I spill something on them or something like that I can replace them without having to get a second job...

250 bucks for jeans....lol

:(

Properly washing, drying goes a long way. I have "mall crap" thats well into a few years and looks as good as new.

And I will never ever give up my $30 Old Navy Jeans. My favorite pair has been with me for 2 years now and I wouldnt trade em for a $250 pair of jeans at all... LOL $250 pair of jeans. You are missing the purpose of jeans here man...

LOL $250 pair of jeans. You are missing the purpose of jeans here man...

what exactly are their purpose... to cover your legs ?

if the sole purpose is clothing to warm your body and protect it from exterior elements, then 40 dollars is technically a waste. They have pants at walmart for 2.99 in the spring... why not wear those... or wear sweatpants all the time. Nice jeans(and i mean nice ones, not necessarily expensive, 1/2 of the fratboy crap going around right now is made in taiwan with everything else) have a much better fit and quality. I have yet to own a pair of pants from any of the stores mentioned here, that i couldn't inspect and find a loose thread.

i suppose it's a matter of perspective, i was only agreeing with previous poster's assesment of aeropostale's clothing... somehow, it has gotten waaaaaaay off track

Thanks OP!

I cleaned up on several items that ranged from 60% to 75% off! :D

Things to note:

Spend over $60 and you can get $10 off with Google Checkout
Spend over $100 and shipping is free
But they add on tax for most states :p

verge is right, a nice pair of expensive jeans makes a totally different opinion. The denim and quality of the jeans gets better and they hold up MUCH better.

I've got a pair of Levi's from Target (note that these are the "value" levis) for which I paid $20. A year and probably dozens of wash/dry cycles later, they still look great, fit great, no loose threads, etc.

To each his own. ;)

Aeropostale isn't all that bad but I wouldn't consider them "nice" at all. The quality has gone down hill, and the last time I went in there everyone was 16. Made me feel old in a jiffy. (Did I just say jiffy? )

not tryin to sound like one of those Hollister freaks.... but ive had shirts from Hollister and Abercrombie that last me FOREVERRRRRRRR. Aeropostal i COMPLETELY agree with the 2nd post up there about how theres ALWAYS something wrong with their stuff. Or like you'll go to Aeropostal and buy 2 pair of jeans... they'll be the SAME size... even the same style if you like... and one will fit different than the other. Also they are very cheap and usually a little dull for what you pay sometimes. I do think if you get good deals like sale stuff,.. its worth it to go to the more expensive places. I dont like American Eagle tho... their stuff fits TOTALLY differently than any other place... and unless you go to their clearance, their stuff is EXPENSIVE now-a-days.

Express for Men is the best of them all... except they will make you poor

My girlfriend has a fair share of Aeropostale clothes. We went to the mall tonight for some holiday shopping and decided to check out the 50% off sale. We took one loop around the store and she didn't like anything in there. I didn't like anything on the men's side. No wonder it was half off. :D

Wet Seal is another story. :(

Go buy stuff...My woman works there as a manager...=)

Many of you might know her nickname around here..haha

does this deal apply to in store as well? I'd rather go to the mall then figure out what I want online... :p

levi's are solid real solid

but i have to agree with some sentiments about old-navy... their t-shirts that i got from there are great... still good... thier cargos are good too, i had a couple pairs of pants and shorts that lasted...

but thier plain pants and jeans do seem very cheaply made, and don't seem hold up well at all, i had a pair of cords which i really really liked of thiers that just started wearing out around pockets...

but these right here are so cheap that i had to buy a few...

ended up spending 100 bucks... i have tons of shirts and not enough pants, maybe i'm just rough on pants and not shirts :/

I shop here alot, and do agree the quality is not the best but there stuff is good enough most of the time and I like the style.

Also these sales are complete BS just so you know, they always have some sorta sale going on and the things are always the same price (sale price) just they change the MSRP.

I shop there all the time and shirts, polos, pants, hoodies, etc. are always the same price (or very near the same price) but the deal ranges from 15% off to 60% off and the MSRP changes with it.

The only place you do get a better deal is at the outlets. I picked up some tees for $4 and polos for $5

My brothers and I just ordered over $130.00 in some shirts, hoodies, and pants. This is going to be a nice Christmas considering we normally only get some undershirts and socks for clothes. :)
