There’s no comparison to the 3950X in that entire article. And the new Threadripper will probably demolish this chip.

or 1000 bucks less then the previous gen for the same amount of cores, I would say that's a significant drop in price.

yeah for 3 years agos architecture. that's a huge savings.

I think ya missed his sarcasm. There are reviews out of the other chips in the lineup. They also seem luke warm...

Because it’s significantly below the processor it’s replacing.... I am not saying Intel isn’t screwed but an 18 core Intel will not have issues vs a 12 core AMD processor.

It's probably because of power. You can have tons of cores or high clockspeeds, but not both.

Ok, so about X299 forget about 10980XE which is in fact a renamed 9980XE. There will be a better 10nm HEDT CPU from Intel. Expect an announcement soon and for sale at the very beginning of 2020. Expect something very close to Threadripper 3 line, only better because Ice Lake Core is much better with better IPC than Zen 2.
