either way, it really does suck though... lots of promise from the two generations they pumped out.
would say the third one did show a lot of good sign as well for an iGPU use case at least, we can see it on the panther lake, they are quite good.

That said they went quite a bit toward efficacy and not sure if they scale well at all in games, the second gen at least with B70 kept the same node and despite a 60% bigger die, 33% bigger memory bus, only do +33% in games apparently:

The 128bits, 181mm 5060TI as fast than the twice as big 368mm B70 with a 256 bits memory bus (sold at nearly $1000.... price tag), pro card could be clocked moderatly, maybe some drivers issues going on... but could be why Intel cancelled it, they are just so much behind on big die

The B 60/70 aren't gaming gpus, they're enterprise/workstation cards.
that a let decision that the die would not be used on gaming card it was a pivot during the long process to make and release a gpu, Nvidia card say an RTX 6000 versus 5090 performance is not that different in games.

i.e. B70 performance could give us some clue what the game performance would have been would they have release a game version using the same die. Software side, maybe the drivers are really not what they would have been for game too, but the card itself pretty much the same with ECC disabled on the consumer side but that usually a minor gaming hit, we can give them a ~15% bonus from lower clock-ecc-drivers (the driver will share a lot of code with the smaller B580.

tpu estimate are of course not that precise, but that about where they had it, the hypothetical gaming version B770:

a bit slower than 5060ti-9060, the 272mm-192 bits b580 is way slower than the 9060/5060 regardless.
 
Not surprised at this. I went and ordered another Onix b580 just to have an extra.

Maybe someday it'll be a collector item.... Oooooo, new in box item!
