If I ever get my RTX 3070, it'll be the most travelled graphics card...

I live in Columbus, Nebraska, about 85 miles from Omaha. It decided to go from Omaha to check out the East Coast in Brooklyn, NY. So far, it's travelled 3,658 miles... and needs to travel 1,316 more miles to get to me.

isn't it wonderful when stuff gets loaded onto the wrong truck.

Worst I've had was New Jersey to Kentucky to Pennsylvania nope Iowa to Pennsylvania and me.

Showing as sitting in a distro center for weeks has a simple reason. It's lost somehow. Fell into a conveyor belt, landed on the floor and got kicked under something, etc.

I despise USPS. The last mobo I got went by USPS. Tracking number showed it in Seattle for over a week. Then updated to delivery on 5-15. Meanwhile, it showed up on 5-9 by way of Amazon. The USPS tracking number finally showed it delivered, by USPS, on the 18th.

Most of the time, they just lose stuff. The KC USPS has been investigated a couple of times in the last four years. It's like a Bermuda Triangle for mail.
Had one instance of them attempting to deliver a package that needed to be signed for. It was for my youngest daughter. USPS told me my daughter already picked it up, NEXT.... I asked the guy, you get a lot of four year old's in here do ya? She just drove down here after preschool to collect the package?

They discovered that some other woman had come in to claim a package, and the USPS included my daughters stuff as well. They were going to give me the ladies address to go get it back. NEXT....
I said no, you go get it, and they finally did collect it and get it to our house. All four year olds love pre-opened bday presents.

D E S P I S E usepiss for mailing anything ever......

Interesting, I’ve had great experiences with USPS. International shipments so maybe that’s better service than domestic?

My company does work on vehicle fleets for USPS, UPS, FedEx, Amazon, etc.

The USPS is so screwed up, so poorly managed, that it's amazing that ANYTHING gets delivered. UPS, FedEx, Amazon, they are like well oiled machines. They can be brutal, but they get the job done.

At the USPS, there is ZERO (and mean absolutely ZERO) accountability. We're talking about trucks running out of gas in front of a gas station. We're talking about "break downs" that have to be towed in and repaired, only to find out that there was nothing wrong with them. (Go figure, these break downs happen when it's late in the day and the driver hasn't finished his route yet). There was a period of time where trucks were "breaking down" and we would find fuses removed from the fuse block.

Then you have stupidity such as: The USPS provides us with the parts to fix their vehicles, but they won't let us stock the common parts. So, when a vehicle breaks down, we have to call them for the part, and they MAIL it to us. So vehicles sit for 3-4 days at a time for simple repairs.

And despite all of this, nobody gets written up, nobody gets fired, and the process continues.

I do everything I can to avoid using the USPS. It's a dumpster fire.

Yeah they just built a FedEx Hub here its welcome surprise for our city. I knew a girl who worked there for a few months said it was fast paced. Fed Ex delivered my 5080 in one piece so I'll forever be grateful 🙏 for them. I cut back massively on ordering online since its laziness.

What a Walmart worker has to go through for picks is insane. Walmart expect 100 picks a hour so 800 items a shift.

Maybe the 3070 wanted to try a real Coney dog rather than that slop in GI trying to pass itself off as a real Coney dog? A friend of mine swears by the Coney Island Lunch Room in GI.

If it gets diverted to a weird spot again, maybe create an account to change the delivery address to a friend or family in a different city or something. Someway to break/interrupt the shipping logic.

My first choice job would of have been a Mail carrier but after reading about it on r/usps I changed my mind. The walking would wreck me

Hey, why don't you check to see if there's a World record for the most travelled video card. Or maybe Ripley's believe it or not?

Should have gotton a mileage counter for free ;)

I'm waiting on a NH-D15 a friend of mine shipped several years ago from Texas. It's been about 10 years and I'm still waiting on it.

there something about that origin area. i ordered something on fleabay from the pnw and it headed to the east, came up through ontarible and then headed west to me. instead of just going straight up and to the east one province.

Even 10-15 years ago I had mostly great experiences with the USPS. Not anymore. Especially once they started that whole Smart Post thing where they work with other delivery services like UPS and FedEx. For what it's worth, none of them are as good as they were, but I feel like UPS has probably declined the least. At the very least I no longer have them lying about "Customer couldn't be reached" thing. That used to be their go-to excuse any time they were running behind. They'd just update their system to say that at 6-7pm and they wanted to go home.

It really depends on where you are. I've bad the best experience with USPS, worst with Fedex. My impressive was about a decade or so ago I sold a GPU or motherboard to someone here, dropped it off in the afternoon, medium flat rate box. 19 hours later it was delivered to the doorstep on the other side of the country. Had some with similar times of around 28 or so hours from drop off, but not getting them shipped as quick as back then. Still, generally don't have issues.

I just had a mailman in our area just walk out in front of me without looking. Beaten and soulless.
One of the times USPS here was investigated. The USPS audit reports from 2024.

Been three audit in the last five years. I watched one mailman use the GPS on his phone to find the next house..... There are four on my street.

Where is Kevin Costner when you need USPS inspiration?
